The final version of the mekka c64 demo compo winner. An ok oldskool production, but Triage 5 is a lot better (and ranked only 3rd).

triage 5 is a damn mixture of triage 1 + triage 2 + triage 3 + triage 4 + perhaps 10 more triages (yet to come). stupid AEG and his sucky demos. this booze design demo ain't that good either :]

Nah, it's cool.. music is great, gfx (aside from all the boris vallejo rips) are great, code is.. well, good if you're an old c64 scener who jizzes at the sight of 15 dycps. :) One of the better "classic" style demos, but it's really in a different league then Triage 5.

i wouldnt compare this demo with a smash demo since its two completely different styles. royal arte has amazing code and is really polished but is also slow and has too much vallejo pics. not my type of demo, but it is perfect to show to old sceners

Very nice oldschool-styled demo. Great code and beautiful gfx.

WTF?? Triage is better? it is ugly while this one is beautiful, smooth, colorful, groovy!

this really is family entertainment hehe :)

no trackmo, just sitting in front of tv and adoring these beautiful parts for hours (yo!). this demo is just exceptionally good stuff!!

respekt!

truely royal.

The code rocks, the graphics suck, some of the tunes are good. I prefer Soul.

pure old school arse-kicking, i adore the interlace strecher the most.
nice design ideas here and there, pity not everywhere :)
and the graphics are copied, but very stylish and well pixelled. hmm, perhaps way too many phantasy.

One of the finest C64 demo I've seen.

Extremly cool as you can keep watching the effects as long as you want until you're pressing the joystick button. Very smooth running effects, great code.

I especially love the endtune and the last picture even if its idea & motif was copied from Boris. A cool one, truely royal!

Great !!!

very cool fx although some are a bit ugly, e.g. the expanded allborder-fpp. The fadeout time is also agonizingly long in some parts, but who cares when you can press alt+w

pixel work is simply great!

I actually went 'holy fucking shit' three times while watching this. Ok, yeah, some people won't get it, they also didn't quit coding on the c64 cuz they couldn't get a SINGLE sinus scroller to work. (ok NOW I know aobut unrolling loops, it was 20 years or something ago... ok?) fscking great stuff.
One of the best C64 demos ever seen!

After some intense reconsideration, I approve that this rocks hard.

slightly demused by the press-space for-next-screen nature of this production. that's very unfortunate, i think. cutting the tunes should would have been an alternative, but.. it's a dilemma.

the rest: absolute rules. great effects, music and graphics (getting tired of boris, tho). and well presented too. the multi scroller rules. i can see it uses hardware scrolling ofcos, hehehe. is this the first eye wobbler ever btw? it just rocks!

Wow! This is a nice product!

Btw, I have some questions about this production: I've seen only 3 part of the demos, but I think they are plus... In the disk A I've seen only the credits part, and in the disk B only the Vectorbars and Images part. Is that all?
rulez added on the 2008-05-24 11:44:38 by SoDa7 SoDa7
Meh. Solid stuff, but having a scroller that goes on for minutes with the same effect in the background is boooring.
added on the 2009-06-27 19:33:41 by mic mic
@mic, press space in each part to see the whole demo.

For me this demo was great source of inspiration to code on the c64 again. Great example of the right oldschool spirit and what true c64 demos are all about. I keep coming back watching this one. Might be my all time favorite in this league...
