It just really kicks ass!! You must watch with your own eyes the scene with the mirrors and the refraction in order to believe it!!

it just rulez... one of the best demos i've ever seen.....

one of the best *Greek* demos you've ever seen, you mean :)

It's not bad, it has a lot of really neat stuff. Nice tricks, cheats and blurs. I'm just not too keen on the colors and textures, and the music kinda lost me after a minute.

It beats staring at the ceiling though, nice work. ;)

Fantastic, ASD does it again and amazes the crowd at React demoparty... this time it is definitely one of the TOP demos of the year. watch it and lose the sence of time and space by the magic tricks of ASD ... this demo FUCKING RULEZ.

Whoah, this seriously kicks some ass. Very amazing demo, best demo of the year so far! And even on my pIII-450 / tnt2 it's running mostly fine :)

My humble being can't digest very well the design but ... thumbs up without any doubt, nice work 8P

great stuff!
I love all the lighting and blurring tricks :)
and the scene from the screenshot was a nice and original touch :) and there are not too much dwelling with each scene, but a nice and steady progression all the way.
as a sidenote, I consider this the most uplifting demo of 2002, whereas most european demo tend to be dark and gloomy for now. again: great stuff!

Impressive demo by ASD, fast paced with beautiful colors. The music is a psychedelic trance track, alot more energetic than from previous ASD demos. A well deserved rulez!
rulez added on the 2002-04-21 07:58:43 by moT moT
no artsy design, no carefully picked colors, no clickety-click idm soundtrack - but instead a full-fledged attack on the senses with a fat trancey tune and loads of effects. it's demo as it was supposed to be by god, and as it was before we started digging MTV and Wallpaper* magazine for 'ideas'.
rulez added on the 2002-04-21 08:34:40 by bhead bhead
Well guys.. full flavor and this time as promised, an original soundtrack =). As Navis tends to keep the demo away from any eye.. I was even amazed when I saw that one week before the party. Oh oh oh... and this time it quits on ESC.. yay! =)

I hope you'll all enjoy it as much as we did here at the party place.

Oh.. and a sidenote on the "ASD colors" ©® ... they are REALLY projector friendly. At least 95% of the details were visible on the big screen.

ASD is really using time on making good transitions in their demos and that makes demos so much cooler. They also bake effects into eachother in a crazy way :)

I really loved that undersea scene with the fire and mirrors...really good...and that transition to that glass ball is cool...the reflections is cool.

The music is that style that is often used in demos and it`s ok..like some of it.

This demo is very very good...the only thing I didnt like was that first scene after the introduction scene.

I hope this wasnt the last ASD demo.
rulez added on the 2002-04-21 17:18:19 by Wain Wain
Mixed feeling here ... Overall view, the demo is well balanced. Colors are OK even if not my favs, music is once again that techno/trance track .. well, if some like it !
Anyway the scene were really good, except for the underwater scene: Overblurred !!!
But yet, transitions are ass kicking !!!
So, the whole deserves that Thumb !!!

Keep up, ASD guyz ...

Hmm.. once again the Greeks are patting themselves on the back - I guess that's what they're known for over there ;). I can't help but notice the inspiration by previous demos here. Lots of great effects and ideas, but they're over too fast or get drowned out by other, lesser effects on the screen. The music is more demoscene flavor than last time (and original!) but it's still nothing great and still doesn't fit the demo too well.. but it's better than the Adrenalin music at least. :) If you have a friend with a short-attention span, this is a good mish-mash demo to show them.

I like it, but I see too much of Cadence and Cascade here (transitions, etc.). Nice effects though, and nice soundtrack.

I don't personally believe in 11Mb demos, that's why I'm not giving it a rulez here. It's a good demo, but not worth the size of it.

Good work guys, keep on producing
added on the 2002-04-21 19:51:41 by Jcl Jcl
this demo is well set up with visuals, but I found the soundtrack rather noisome.
added on the 2002-04-21 21:24:38 by funktion funktion
One thing I liked about Cadence and Cascade was the constant transitions between sections, which made for a very smooth flowing demo. This production is no different. It seems to become more interesting as it progress, is not too long, and the music fits. (Apart from the voice samples, which are icky...) My favourite bit is (once again) the way sections creatively transition from one part to the next. Slick.

There's enough to see in each scene and the transitions are really good.

Cute, we'll designed, pretty cool effects, synch. I've liked this one, ASD is improving in every demo they produce.
erm..the music and some scenes and fades, reminds me some kind of 604 inspired, but i liked much more the design work and composition on thie EOF by ASD. Congrats!

Very good job.

Loads of fx, transitions, good gfx here and there.... it still has some coder color combinations, but is definitely one of the best productions this year (and better having coder colors and fx than a 3d player (eh 3p? :))

Rulez.

Visually it's pretty darn good. It doesn't play music in my machine though.... and yes, I DID hit the YES button on the dialog at the beginning. Weird.
rulez added on the 2002-04-22 00:46:35 by sin sin
This is very very cool. I mean there's enough material here to fill a few demos, effects come and go at a ridiculous pace, transitions are fluid and make sense too.
rulez added on the 2002-04-22 00:55:20 by MrMessiah MrMessiah
phoenix: well.. if it had fewer effects lasting longer, would it then be boring? I like the fast transistions, it makes the demo exciting to watch over again, as there are new details to discover every time :)
(for the record: I'm norwegian, not greek ;)
added on the 2002-04-22 01:37:49 by lug00ber lug00ber
Mac: what's this? The worlds worst colour-blind coder talking about colour combinations?!?!

Iblis: he was talking about _his_ prods!

My comment: fuck! I loved it. Totally. It's just amazing, with effect after effect, with trick after trick. It just blew me away.
The only thing is that I see that people just use one camera for a scene, they don't do cut-scenes like in VIP2 (that's one of the reasons it's so appealling!). But that's not a bad point, it's just not a good point :)

Conclusion: Rulz big time!

Stunningly, awesomely beautiful. There's not a single word that describes how beautiful it is.

I loved the combination of accelerated and software graphics all at the same time - very nice visual tricks, transitions, everything.

The music was good, but you could have left out the newsman's monologue, and added a fading echo to Ellie's dad's voice at the very end (it seemed to cut off to quickly).

The combination of the two at times made my eyes get all watery :,)

Definitely one of the best 11MBs I ever downloaded...

*watches it again*

hm - maybe all thumbs up rose my expectations too much, i don't know. this one surely deserves a thumb up for all efforts put into it, the amount of work can be seen well. anyway i didn't like it. i just don't like "kitsch" demos. the name, the music, the overall feeling is way too pathetic for me. i think my favourite scene is the loading screen so far ;)
added on the 2002-04-22 12:15:40 by rp rp
lots of pretty generic effects teamed up together with some fancy camera movements result in a few nice looking scenes. to me it seems that they've spent a lot of time on details.. which pays off. on the other hand i can't really feel happy about a few spheres on a plane and the music was so awfully cheesy..
added on the 2002-04-22 12:57:14 by superplek superplek
nice visuals, nice tricks, nice design. this is almost perfect, but the soundtrack is a bit out of the picture...
Well, it made me want to watch Contact again. (But it ended up being spaceballs, but that's my prob... :) )

Let me vote too... I have 2 go after that (I am in an Icafe and I will wash the disses if I don't leave now!)

I have seen it again, amazing, liked it more than their previous (That means that they advance a lot) the visuals/transmations and ideas are amazing, there is a non stollen music this time, done by Amusic, I liked it very much,. it touches me that there is one greek group doing a good job keeping our tiny greek scene alive..

I am wondering if you can do better next time. Navis just said in my mailing list that he wants to do better and better things each time, but wonders how he can achieve that after this demo :)
rulez added on the 2002-04-23 00:23:05 by Optimus Optimus
OK, 2nd time watching it, and I'm convinced that the voice samples killed this demo. (forgive me, amusic!) A tune that changed style around the parts (like TBL's recent stuff), being hi-energy techno in some parts, but drumless and emotional in others (like the hand at the end) would've made this demo so much more moving - because I am impressed by the effect sequencing. So, so very close to a thumbs up.

phoenix perhaps you're right about the contact samples... Maybe it's just cause I was in a "contact" mood at the time.. anyhow.. I didn't have much time to polish the vocal samples as I was in a rush due to army obligations..

Anyhow, the music was intended to bring back memories as a combo between old/newskool... (and a little influence from poland demos which I personaly love)..

In conclusion I'm very satisfied with the end result.. both the demo, and the party which had a surprising ammount of entries. I'm sure we we'll do better on our next production.. which will not be in 2002 for sure...

Oh as a final note, ASD is in the scene for more than 10 years.. I doubt that the founders were aware of the Amiga Andromeda demogroups (which is once again one of my favourites...)

Whoah, I haven't voted for this yet?
It's one of my favourite recent demos, and I have recommended it to many people already :)

I love it... great music, great transitions...
As for the 3 spheres on a plane...
I guess that's a poke at realtime raytracing :)
If it were realtime raytracing, it'd be cool...
But now it's 3d hardware, so it looks better, runs way faster, so it's not cool :)
I like that little detail there :)

As in CnC, creative effects and smooth transitions from ASD -- if there's anything I didn't like that well, it must be the colour scheme and the music -- I don't really feel that those two fit too well together. Heavy render-to-texture use, so I guess it won't look too good on my own card (haven't tried), but appears smooth on a Geforce2MX. :-)

Finally i saw this in my computer. Yeap, ASD rulez. They made one of the best demos ever seen.
However, ASD's style is not the style that i like (i prefer "fast and beaty" and "dark and melodic demos"). But this is a demo that you are not seeing too often. Most today's demos are flybys or bad written/boring effects (which i'm used to :). EOF is not a flyby and if someone says that has bad written or boring effects, (s)he has to see it again (but if (s)he still thinks that, then, whatever, everybody has a different taste for things).
@cp: The name and the music fits ok with this demo, which is a very good demo. You would say that these are "pathetic", if the demo was something that you see every day. But EOF is not an every day demo.

(and you can run it even on a P233 :)

i'll give it a thumbs-up for some very cute scenes (underwater, snow sphere, jellyfish). overall it's not one of my favorites demos though. overlay fx are overused, soundtrack's not my taste, and the colors are a tad too intense.

More of this coming soon to a monitor near you SaphirJD. We're hard at work for the next step, and I hope we're moving towards the right direction... (i.e. forward).

(Man.. it's very tempting to thumb this up.. resist.. resist.. resist..)

Decent demo, with quite a nice feeling, although I find Dreamchild to be significantly better (ambience as well as design wise). Not too sure what to think about the music, although the voices sound familiar (series? movie?) Some nice transitions as well.
rulez added on the 2004-03-19 08:00:54 by Nezbie Nezbie
The voice samples are from the movie "Contact" with Jodie Foster.. and the tune (We are not Alone) is kind of my Tribute to Carl Sagan =)
added on the 2004-03-21 00:10:20 by aMUSiC aMUSiC
it's most definately better than dreamchild, yet the predominantly colorscheme spoiled it for me again.

Weird.
I wanted to watch this again, but it crashed.
since I had some problems with fullscreen OpenGL apps (later I found out that this was the only one crashing), I patched out the modechange and started watchin in windowed. The loading passed, the music started to play, but nothing happened.
Later I found out that if I right-click the taskbar button of the demo, it starts to show, and keeps playing as long as the context-menu is visible. If I close it, it stops again.
Odd, isn't it?

Wow! I finally stimbled over it while i was searching for something of a kind for *years*. This demo (as the others from Andromeda i just watched) has a somewhat oldskoolish soundtrack and many innovative effects. It seems to continue the tradition of Final Reality in some sort - music, style...

People, THE SCENE IS ALIVE!

fast-paced and surreal like a goa demo should be. Love those worlds-withing-worlds transitions!

The music is ok and there are some neat effects and scenes, but in general the design sucks, it's too incoherent. It's hard to believe this is made by the same people as Planet Risk, even though there are many similarities (colors, blur, transitions, layering and a bunch of recycled(?) 3D models, etc). It's nice to see how people progress.

Really good, probably my favorite demo. The movie references are very nice.

If you didn't recognize it, all quotes are from Contact ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118884/ ), a nice movie, but i liked the book better.
