ROM?
It's a live performance, the ROM would not be showing you anything until you start using both joypads to actually produce the visuals and syncs. So I'm not so hot on releasing something like that alone.. it does not come with operating instructions mind you!

Which is why I entered it originally in the video/animation compo.. Should have entered it in the real wild/console demos since they were not all meant to be autonomous, just realtime generated.

Heh, okay, didn't know that that was how it was done :)

Ok, this has some potential in it that I like, but it suffers from the 'truck playing around with a cool demotool that he doens't understand and making random shit' look; and a second thing that probably only affects those of us who had NTSC systems. The initial scrolling of the screen is basically perfectly timed to be identical with the scrolling that in my brain says 'TV is not synching properly, adjust vertical hold' and thus I need to twiddle something to stabilize it. If it were used differently, say, after something else? that would be turned off in my head.

Also, pausing the static images, or the screwups of static images, for effect, shouldn't be underestimated as an effect.

I couldn't do better, but I know YOU can, so I gotta piggify. Hoping to see this live sometime anyway (:

Oh fuck it I'm not piggifying it, cuz when I do see it live it will rule (:
Since the full quality download is a bit hefty (250M) I've uploaded it also to youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_rEbBFtK0w

for me it works perfectly both as an experimental audiovisual study and as an actual vj performance :) .

Cool style. Tune was great in it's own tight but lacked a little chaos compared to what the visuals were doing. Go PC Engine go!

I've released the "sources" for this video: http://scene.org/file.php?file=%2Fdemos%2Fgroups%2F%21%3D%2Fneq-looking_for_the_perfect_hit-instrument.zip&fileinfo

The zip file contains both the soundtrack and the PCE rom used to produce the live visuals, with instructions. Best used on the real machine!

This is the highest rated prod for the PCE / TG16? Come on. I was about to piggy this, but what the hell, thumb down for once.

lacks an epilepsy warning at the beginning. i can't decide if the music sucks or not. the weird visuals don't feel wrong. so piggie. (would have been a thumb with better music.)
hm....

Holy hell this is fantastic. One of the best demos I've ever seen. Only somewhat repetitive, could've been half the length.
