ERU: "Last week AtariArea organized a 24h compo. The subject was "PM-only". So we did submit a simple demo, called "PM-09". Unfortunately took the last place. Luckily, it also got the first prize. Yes, there was only one submission."

thanks Eru, 0XF, X-Ray!

What is "PM"?
added on the 2009-01-18 22:29:47 by xeron xeron
"PM" is a abbrevation for "player missile". On the 8bit Atari this was the common term for "sprites". So all the graphics you see is made only by using XL/XE sprites.

What an idea! Reminds me of the first part of Y's on X68000 where the whole graphics were made in Text mode (16 colours redefinable chars) instead of using any Hardware at all like Bitmap mode, Sprites, Hardware scrolling etc. since it was a PC98 conversion...

Very cool, never seen a PMG only demo before for the A8. At least there are less of those pesky DMA cycles!
