Some nice pictures and logos by Made. An awfull amount of amazing effects by Nucleus and Aardschock ( later known as Patapom ). Too bad, it really shows that it's a coder demo, the design is really unequal.

All in all, the effects and the well designed parts top the rest.

Great code!
Nice 2d graphics.
Design ranges from very bad to almost nice depending on the part of the demo :)
Horrible music

Great demo - an exception is the music which only sucks.

everything said about that one.. except that the opening effect is just great (reminds me to sanitys arte amiga demo?)

One of the last prods from HMD on atari and the FX rocks! The music sucks heavily!

Awesome work done by Patapom in a small amount of time. The design in some parts bears his own Glop Trademark :-)
I did the 3D intro on this one. Too bad the jelly cube wasn't as nice on STE as on Falcon :-) What was that music BTW ? Can't remember of it. Must have sucked indeed :-) The tune in the endpart was completely fucked up ("Kiki est là, je suis content !!!") but it made me roll on the floor laughing. Good ol' timez. I wish I still had my STE to watch it again :-)

Alex: pour ce qui est de la zik, ça devait être Morgoth ou un truc du genre...

J'aime bien le riff bien agressif finalement... Reuh-Reuh !
Outstanding release, even though the design wasn´t that straight as in other demos before... ace soundtrack!

I never managed to see this on my STe. I've tried two TOS-versions, 1, 2 and 4MB ram. It always fucks up.

So I've only seen it on emulator, and me of all people who hardly can stand those things :) Does anyone know how to run it on a real STe ?

The demo is fucking impressive code-wise, and it would only have taken a few days more work to fix a couple of displaybugs, pictures and music - then it would be one of the best Ataridemos ever. Now it's just technically good but not a pleasure to watch..

Evil: No idea what's wrong with your ste :) It worked fine on my one meg machine back in the days :)

massively delayed thumb. high quality code. one of the best on STe! when i see that amount of glenz spheres on an 8 MHz machine, i know it rules =)) also pretty good graphics here and there. =)

i don't care too much about the design.. it floats my boat. but that manga movie sample over and over.. it's hard to stand..

evil: I had similiar problems on my STe (4mb, tos2.06) ... to get the demo started, here it helped to switch off an external harddrive (megafile), then start the demo, when the demo hangs - switch the harddisk on again.. i know, it sounds weird, but works ;)

While recording this one for videodb today, I couldn't help being amazed by some of the routines here, especially the circle filler.. 8 circles on STe, impressive :) Also spacecut 3d.

50 FPS video: http://dhs.nu/video.php?ID=202

PS. Thanks to GGN for harddisk patching the demo so it would work on my MSTe :-)

I hope this is a patch which is soon available to the rest of us ? :)

Somewhere, I've got a disk with the individual screens on it, impressive even in that format.

The only atari demo I'll ever thumb up!
The music sucks, the design is horrid, most of the effect ideas have been seen before (on amiga of course), but the code is SWEET!

just saw the hd patched version... damn this stuff rocks.. shame on me for not thumbing before :))

First thing's first: this thing rules!!

In other news... I see evl has leaked that I had actually hd patched this demo :). Not that I mind tbh! Only issue is that because of copying all disk data into RAM, 2MB will be required (not that STEs have a problem with mem upgrades!).Now then, with D-Bug's bi-daily release schedule, this will be released around the end of April! Of course if someone desperately needs it till then can always ask me!

Question to evl: Which display bugs do you mean? I could try to fix those. I know of the obvious depacking-into-screen-while-palette-is-not-completely-dark and I can fix that, anything else you have in mind?

And as for 505's way of making it work on real machines: you nasty h4xxx0r!

George, if the HD-patched version's "in the works" but definitely on the way, then I can wait :-) It won't be a problem for my 4MB STE ;-)

Out of interest, does it work well on 16mhz for Mega STE? (Felice has one of those.)
added on the 2009-03-13 20:37:37 by CiH CiH
Chris, it already works on my and evil's MSTEs, so it should be quite ok (mine is quite picky mind you!).

Now as a general rule I don't turn on any acceleration when it comes to demos, because that totally screws up synchro code. If I ever play around with that code, it will be easy to have it selectable though.

Superb!
But i got a trauma from the end sample!
