looks great and all but. uhm well the robots are pissing me off.
rasmus, the idea is to get the robots to their homes (blue ones to blue nest, etc).

I know the game is quite hard to understand at first but... read the <piip> manual ;) (if it helps)

the gfx are absolutely fantastic. but i don't have the faintest idea how the game is supposed to work. i read the readme and tried playing for quite a while, and i'm still utterly clueless.

what does dig/pile mean? must i click on the dig/pile buttons once (like a toggle) or more than once to make the robots execute the command repeatedly? what does it look like when a dig or pile is executed anyway? i am still to see the robots do anything but drive around. does the tile color have any meaning? why does it say "3 of 4 robots saved" when there are much more than 4 robots around? why can i put more than one flag on a tile when the flag just indicates "don't dig or pile here"? why does one of the little red dots above the mood meter turn yellow when i place a flag? can i take flags away again?

jazzman, next time I'm making game, I ask you to beta test :) You propably asked the same questions everyone else is pondering. Here's the answers:

what does dig/pile mean? must i click on the dig/pile buttons once (like a toggle) or more than once to make the robots execute the command repeatedly?
Dig, and pile are the commands. Once you hit a column the comand is give to the selected tribe (the meter is lit differently). There is a comamnd queue, that is, each time a robot has idle time, it will try to complete the next command.

what does it look like when a dig or pile is executed anyway?
When the tribe has accepted the command, a flag (flower) will be placed on that tile.

does the tile color have any meaning?
Tile colors have meaning. The dark tile cannot be dig (if the land is low), or land cannot be pilet on it (if the land is high). Also if a robot digs from other tribes land, the other tribe will get more sad.

why does it say "3 of 4 robots saved" when there are much more than 4 robots around?
The goal is to save certain amount of robots, not all.

why can i put more than one flag on a tile when the flag just indicates "don't dig or pile here#?
The flag indicates that you have ordered a command to be done on that tile, not the other way round (hmm... I really should check what I have written to the docs :)

why does one of the little red dots above the mood meter turn yellow when i place a flag?
The dots means the number of commands you can give to certain tribe. A lit (yellowish) dot means that you have ordered a command. You cannot order more than the amount of commands you per tribe. That is, if all the dots are lit, you cannot order more commands.

can i take flags away again?
use the undo button. (the yellow one)

extremely pretty, but mindboggling gameplay. :)

Nice idea and good looking graphics, altough I have to use the lowest settings. After some "wtf am i supposed to do?", I even got the idea (5th level, whoo! ;). I've always liked games like this.

Killing design !!! Mmmh ok now i'll try to understand how to play (:

very original game concept and nice implementation.

it takes time to understand how it works, but it's worth a try.

the two first levels are quite easy, but the third one is almost impossible :)
rulez added on the 2002-12-29 19:01:57 by florent florent
thanks for the explanations, memon! i solved the first three levels now :) gameplay is pretty logical once you understand it. my only remaining complaint is about the color scheme - it's a bit hard to distinguish the tribes, flags and doors, especially in the shade. btw, the snow level is really beautiful!

nice game, good ideas... characters design is ripped, but it's ok

Hehehe. Stylish!

Quick tutorial in case your totally clueless:
The goal is to get the robots thru their doors (which matches their color).
On first step, choose the meter of the tribe you want to help. Rotate the view (right-click) to get the door face you.
Now, place a DIG command (click the DIG button, then click the hexagon) on one of the 'extra' blocks (the ones you don't need).
Then, place a PILE command nearby the door, creating stairs. Then watch as the robot digs up a pile and places it in front of the door, and if you're lucky, you may have an exiting robot! :)
Now, do this until you get a nice screen with a huge "Level Completed" banner :)

spengler, ripped? from where? dont say wagons christ record cover, because that's not true (I saw the the cover after we had made gerbera, dont remember who pointed that out). The characters come from our demo Gerbera. This is kind of sequel to that :)

Thanks for the positive feedback, good critisism. Gotta focus on the playability more next time... lesson learned :)

but it is very beautiful, and sound is good
One of the best scene-games =)
Featuring cute graphics and your favorite gerbera bots, this game tries to be more of a brain-teaser. Really great gfx and design. It easily gets quite hard after the first few levels =)

Can't believe I forgot to thumb this up! Smooth visuals, nice sound and it's a lot of fun to play. Can be a little frustrating when the robots wander off in the wrong direction but hey, it's a challenge and that's what games are all about. :)
