Sorry but Imho Bypass and Blackamaiden can do better...When I remeber their outstanding demo from MS 2002.....
This intro is dark, ambient boring show, with some suicide poetry, only object / poetry show...... I very like Blackmaiden Bypass demos and intros but this is "lame"

requirements

only nvidia & at least geforce3 / geforce4 Card
(geForce4mx won't work!)
[/qoute]
4:( - this is a big mistake I have run this intro on my GeForce2Mx ... works fine....
:( - it still sucks that it doesn't run on my card.

nice "replay style" intro... good ambient, nice music...
deserved to be 2nd

Some nice objects, nice shadows...
But some shadows were buggy... shadowvolumes not capped properly?

Waiting for a final (one that also runs on Radeons yes)
added on the 2003-04-21 16:14:16 by Scali Scali
Works ok on my Geforce2MX too. It's not a bad intro, but nothing above average.

i like it very much, its really worth a look, good work guys!

Saw it on GF2MX. Some bugs here and there, but I still liked it. Especially the atmohsphere.

I thought this was pretty nice. Great shadows and only a few bugs. But the "pokemon" scene was definitely a low point. It should've wagged it's tail or something.

as far as i know (hadn't been involved in this prod) it isn't supposed to run on MX cards. so don't bother watching on these, you will miss effects.

rocking production!

aahahaha anyway thx you all for liking this prod

sweet little intro.. nice mood and models. but the screen is a bit too empty at times and the texts smell of scenepoetry slightly.. 8)

bypass did it again :)

this is my favourite intro from the compretition.
it has style, atmosphere and looks really beautiful.
but farbrausch had tits :)

some objects look like visualize-rippoffs, though, and there is too much black around...

why the fuck only Nvidia Cards ?
Next time try to "support" every cards !! or continue in your lazyness and do an AMD duron or Intel celeronA Only would be fine !!
what cannot be done on other cards ??
(some said that they watched it with their G2MX ?

Not that interesting imho.

wheely (and all nvidia-only bashers): try to follow a rule of thumb in your life... when you are going to speak from your ass fart instead... in OpenGL when it comes to advanced features like vertex/pixel programs etc it goes through vendor specific (non-ARB) extensions, and I guess that is the reason that it runs only on nvidia cards.. And ofcourse it is not reasonable to expect from a democoder to have an array of different video cards at his disposal to write code paths using different extensions. So please since you are totally ignorant shut the fuck up, cause you piss me off.

thanks for your comments!

i'm a bit pissed of people down-voting this, because of the hardware requirements. as you can imagine i do not have ton's of graphics hardware to code/test on. aside from, it's a 64k intro, there isn't much space left for different (hardware specific) codepathes. i'm sure you (complaning) guys can do a lot better.. !

yes, the intro runs on cards like geforce, geforce2 (even tnt cards might be possible) - BUT as the infofile states, you need at least a geforce3 to see a correct working intro. shadow volumes will be capped improperly on hardware below geforce3, which results in wrong shadowed (= mainly black) areas. same goes for speed, as arb_vertex_program is only supported in hardware on geforce3 and upper cards. on lower cards the vertex shaders are emulated in software, which results in decreased performance. no problems should arise with the featured normal mapping, which is btw the nvidia specific reason.

maybe we will find the time and release an updated version with support for different vendors graphics cards. we will see..
added on the 2003-04-30 19:29:21 by warp warp
yea warp spoke the truth..
then i have some pal of mine who watched this demo on a GF2MX so well hey, gf2mx became so cheaaaaaap, just throw in a garbage your radeon if you're not ok with it.......... so many demos or intros requires nvidia only, why don't you post that kinda shitty comments on some ULTRA LEET demogroup prods??????

would be supaaa cool you know?!

or just get a fucking life and learn when it's the right moment to THUMB DOWN.
[..] If you feel your demo needs MMX you just code it and slap a "MMX Required" tag in the FILE_ID.DIZ. Some people may be annoyed, but hey! [..]

just quoting :)
(not that this is an excuse to ati owners thought)

Ehm, if its the ARB_VERTEX_PROGRAM that is causing it to be nVidia only then its not true, since that extension exists on ATI aswell (and has done so for an eternity).

meh, its barely ok......

now make it run on ATI's, and it'll rock
Subversive tastes like an Halcyon intro of the '97 period. Even the music sounds like what Dune, Croaker, MD, Kenet, ... did at the time.
rulez added on the 2004-11-06 11:15:22 by p01 p01
cool... you thumb up something you say as totally unoriginal... yeah cool...
man.. im sorry to tell you md and dune didnt invent electronic music tho they were good at doing it (even very good).
o_Õ

Did I say MD and Dune invented electronic music ?
This prod is not a ripoff. It feels like '97 and brings its own style with it.

Maybe this prod now looks a little old, but i sill love it.
I've appreciated the overall melancolic mood, mostly due to this minimalistic and naively sad music.
