Nice presentation, shame about the bugs.

spkr, youtube isn't from real hardware. unfortunately Hatari still doesn't properly emulate the BLiTTER and cpu interaction

Pretty cool show!

For some reason it locks up with black screen on my STE with Swedish 1.62 TOS.
And if I try to run the demo in Hatari with that ROM configured I get some kind of "bus error", so it really seems like the demo isn't compatible with that ROM.
I can get it to run it in Hatari by choosing for example a 2.06 ROM instead.

Cyprian, the lower border does not stay open on the real hardware and the polygon drawing does the occaisional wordfilling outside the polygon. It occurred on the bigscreen and on my hardware as well.

very nice demo!

Sdw BTOS works ok under Hatari/STE/1.06/4MB. The demo needs at least 2MB of RAM.
spkr, ok lower border will be corrected. Regarding polygons issue, I have no idea, will ask Wachu.

Hello spkr. I know that issue, it happens sometimes when I compute masks/offsets for long and very thin polygons (1-2 pixels wide). I invented absolutely new way to calculate masks/offsets (no more addx, I totaly omit coords calculations and go straight to masks/offsets computations), but it still needs some improvements. Btw I used blitter to do that; all process takes only 16 cycles (m68k) per offset/mask pair.

I don't care about the little polygon filler bug. But I can't stand the fact that you spoiled the mirror illusion when you decided to forget about the upside down flip of the vertical axis.

You should fix it! Mirrors always invert the images!

The music is too happy. Proper oldskool music is in a minor key.

Love it! Flat shaded ploys are the new black ;)

And chip sound plus digi drums I always adore :)

Ps. As it's an STE why not real mirror? Via blitter or via timer b setting line address?

Oldschool is not STe 2MB to me ;-)
As mentionned there are lots of glitch, not only on small polys and sometimes it goes really slow. Sad for the mirror but I believe it's easy to fix.
Thank for all responses.

@Cyg - all effects expect last runs in 50 frames, please press Ctrl and you'll see processor usage. :)

@Heaven and Ham - proper mirror is easy to implement, but both methods consume processor time - blitter about 10%, timer b with address switching in each line of bottom border also takes a few % and it's quite sensitive to blitter usage (massive in this demo). 10% CPU time equals 20% smaller polygons, it's unacceptable - so we decided to switch on quite nice pseudo-mirror which takes 0% CPU time (!!!) - thanks to Cyprian idea and code.

So,

in spite of

(which isn't quite nice but plainly looks just all wrong), you wouldn't hesitate to selfvote for your prod. So let me just even that out.

(I feel a bit sorry though, as the rest of the demo is neatly designed.)

Not in this revolution and revelation. General ST demo competition was weak this year. Intro powered by DKD imho was better than all ST demos ;)

Mirror part prevents me from thumbing this up, it just looks plain bad and made me tihink "space cut please, spaaaaaceee cut" the whole time. Nice demo other.

What others say, mirrors and placing whole demo on almost one routine doesn't cut it. Piggdy for the nice speed of some parts.
Another awesome one :)

Come on, it's not a mirror effect, it's clearly some kind of an optical lense.

Nice. "0 CPU time" mirror almost work for me with symmetric 3d objets, I would have withdrawn the graphics from the mirror. Great tune!
