Silly, but that awesome type of silly that makes you smile and bop your head along :)

more head bopping with some variation and less disconnected light effects would've done the trick

Hey everyone!

I would like to post a corrected version of my Deadline 2017 entry.

The original entry got 1st place in the Animation Compo (big thanks for your votes, everybody!!!), but I had so little time to work on it, that many small things were wrong and I was very sad that the video did not explain the visual effects. Many people thought these were digital effects - but, of course, they weren't. I am the "analogue" demo guy, after all :)

So I produced a slightly corrected version. It is mostly the same, but it has some visual things fixed, and adds a quick explanation of how it was done.

Either way, here it is:

And again - a big thank you to the Deadline organizers!

Haha, I do not know why, but I come back to this demo over and over again. Seems that the outfits match so perfectly the music.

Nice one! Imho the fidget spinner thing only scratches the surface though. how about long exposure timelapse, with the camera mounted on a rail, approaching the center of the spinner, to create some sort of spyrotunnel?

jco, it's funny you mention that. I actually tried some of that. A lot of it did not work out, some looked nice, but I did not shoot final versions of initial ideas. Also, so much was happening and I had so little time for this, that I even thought I will not be doing anything for this year. But then I decided to do this more like a music video.

But thank you for the enthusiasm and I will definitely do more analogue demos in the future :)
