Rocking the KC again. :) Enjoyed it on the big screen and, as always, nice talking to you. Looking forward to some more KleinComputer stuff from you. :)

Somehow the 3D effect didn't work for me at all on this one. Maybe because the cyan appeared more like grey on the bigscreen.
Thumbs up! :) I didn't remember that there actually was a Robotron KC85/!4! in the German Democratic Republic.. The boot screen looks pretty familiar! Great to see this! :)

Some background information about this production may be of interest...

First, there were several novel techniques, developed in the meantime (since Revision 2018) by moods plateau, stuffed into this one:

  1. Animation with nearly no need of CPU (parallax scrolling in main screen)
  2. Replay of audio samples (logo, title and main screen)
  3. 1st time application of KC 85/4’s HRG (high resolution graphics) mode especially here for Anaglyph 3D graphics (decrunch, logo and title screen)

For the first effect (1) the color blinking feature of the system hardware and two screen buffers were used.

The quality of sample based audio replay (2) will be further improved. :o)
In this demo the actual timer for triggering the interrupt for replay could not be used, because of the simultaneous combination with effect (1). So one of the oscillators was utilized that is regularly used for sound output. The then normally resulting noise was prettily eliminated by noise canceling with the help of the second audio channel. ;)

HRG mode (3) is a graphic mode of the KC 85/4 computer with higher color resolution. It makes it possible to define an individual color for each single pixel out of a palette of 4 colors. Luckily (at least just for our use case here) the contained colors are black, red, cyan and white as straightly made for displaying red/cyan color-coded Anaglyph 3D graphics. Furthermore, the combinations of the bits in both bitplanes involved do result automatically in the proper color indices of the (fixed) palette and are therefore displayed already in the right color for stereoscopic view when containing the left and right image respectively.

Nonetheless, I’ve learned some more special facts about Anaglyph 3D at the party. Thank you, _Ook, for the valuable hints given!

@Saga Musix: Sorry, if the presentation on the big screen was not optimal for you. (Besides the colors, I’ve learned, also the size matters here a lot.) :-D You could try some screenshots available at demo zoo. They’re directly taken from MESS KC 85/4 emulation which was my reference so far. B-)

3D didn't work for me either, but KC85/4 = mandatory thumb.
@lsl: I make that mistake quite often myself, but KC85/4 != Robotron ;)

No involvement whatsoever (I wish).
Überthumb to doc.K. for relentless digging in the features of this beautiful machine.

Shortly after the party I finally managed to utilize an other timer circuit that doesn’t interfere with one of the audio channels for generating the sample clock. As a consequence, a clear audio signal can be accomplished now. And by the way, the horizontal level meter has been replaced by an oscilloscope visualizer. :)

With this, the final version is out now!
