Sorry, couldn't get a screenshot (actually, couldn't run it under Windows. Give it a try, you might be amused). The third in the series, if you want to call it that. Music by Basehead.

my second favorite out of the 'timeless' trillogy.
Nice silhouetted animated characters and other sprites against an ever changing ultra psychedelic background.

one of the first demo production i saw on my first PC (486 DX66). Very nice.

When I moved to another city and decorated my rooms, it ran on my laptop the whole time to have some background-activity. Funny, it never got boring. It's simply adorable.

very nice and relaxing demo. i don't like the clipart style of most of the graphics though.

Used a very interesting video hack that caused the monitor to display the top half one frame and the bottom half the next. Different characters and effects were drawn to each half and wound up being intermixed.

oh my god this one. Wait. This has MUSIC? Ok um, well, the machine I ran this on (for days) at my old job didn't have a soundcard... anyway just a simply astounding trip that does not seem to repeat. Changed my mind about PC's being worthless for demos (: (it was 1998 when I saw it,ok?)
I loved this one, and Truck, The Zen Garden by Basehead is the music from this. That's why it fits nicely at just over 9 minutes. :)

My favorite of the Timeless trilogy, probably because of the amazing music by Basehead. One of my alltime favorites!

I've some problems running this demo on WinXP... I tried also with dosbox, the demo starts, music plays, but screen is completely corrupted... Does someone run this wonderful demo on a modern machine?

Thanks

This definitely rules, though I somehow like Ambience more. Too bad it doesn't run on a modern machine. Win port, anyone? ;)))

I'm now listening at "The Zen Garden", the incredible soundtrack of this unique demo. It uses a strange SVGA trick that makes it hard to be run on a modern machine or a dos emulator. But I cannot believe there's no solution...

I'd love to watch this one again. Rakkautta <3

Beatiful and enchanting. You really get lost in the flow and just keep watching and listening. One of the first demos I saw. Guess I need to check the rest of the trilogy as I never knew that there was more years ago.

i think there's a solution to run this demo on a fast modern machine.
dosbox project on sourceforge.net can help to run this stuff and also many oldschool demos and intros.

to me, this demo is jaw-dropping and mesmerizing. the visuals and the music complement each other really well; tran and basehead are both geniuses in their respective crafts. i can watch this now with dosbox, but it's just not the same.

Hmm, flickers right at the start with all DOSBox configurations I've tried. Any advice on how to get this to run properly?
The demo is using alternating render surfaces and only runs flicker-free when the monitor refresh rate is rather high (70Hz+ is likely); That way the demo saves plenty of clock cycles on per-pixel color mixing and still achieves that multi-layered look. That's also why you can't get a proper screenshot and why DOSBox can only encode a couple of frames per minute, so that recording a video this way is only for very patient people. :)

I guess, the real way of watching this would be on a DOS machine or via video output on a 4:3 CRT that still supports high refresh rates. But I hear it's hard to get >> 60Hz video reliably out of DOSBox.

(Also, a nice demo, really. :P)

I absolutely love how chill this prod is. The music somehow reminds me of Donkey Kong Country 2 (not a bad thing at all) and has a really nice 90s feel to it.
