I love this. The tunes, the code, the graphics.
The menu. It all feels like my youth. Thanks.

hooou yeah super nice idea!

is it YM again or tfmx? (I mean YM chip emulation and not just raw replay of data).

Love the concept, the idea is great. I know how much work you put into porting and debugging all these routines as some musics need some very specific players. Kudos for re-uniting the 68k machines, the overall oldschool feeling is fantastic

Great stuff Leonard, the emulation is spot on, I remember assisting Mr Styckx back in the day with YMST (still on aminet I believe), that required each tune to be manually modified capturing the YM writes, slow process! It will be interesting to see your SNDH to YM7 tool :) Finally, top work in waking up some sleepy musicians, especially Jess! :)

Excellent stuff, sounds awesome.

One thing i'd like to know, is it possible to create a player file that we can include in productions?

For instance, i've done a few Atari ST to Amiga game conversions, and it would be great to be able to include a simple binary to call to play YM music, or are there just too many different formats on the ST for that to be possible?

Good work all the same, not sure how taxing this is for 68000 based Amigas, i'm guessing for using something like this with a game on Amiga it would need to be at least 020?

more than solid. i can just guess what kind of codemagic hass to be done to get this right!

Atari musicians sux ! 😄
No War , No Fun. Monopoly Burn the Sun !
Great Stuff, but i do not own an Amiga... ;-)
So plz release it also as an Atari Version.
I know, i could get them by all the single releases, but it is very nice as a whole collection...
Kind Regards!

Hi!

thanks for kind words! The final version is available at download here now. Changes are:
1- Amiga hardware lowpass audio filter is now switched OFF! Makes the YM sound even better with more medium and treble! enjoy!
2- Compatible with AROS free default ROM in WinUAE ( so you can run with a fresh WinUAE without having to search for some kickstart official ROM )

Enjoy!

@rez: This is pure YM emulation (computing a sample stream at 22khz each frame. It's not replaying different pre-generated instrument samples like a classic MOD or TFMX )

@galahad: it's possible, but have some constraints. If you don't mind about stéréo séparation, you could imagine an YM tune playing on amiga voice A, and three free Amiga voices to play sound Fx for your game. Count about 40% CPU for a simple tune on 68k, and around 15% on 68020. I will think about a public release

@Schlampf : you're not the first to ask for an Atari version. Maybe one day, but right now let the amiga version be an "exclusive" one :)

Great achievement Leonard! It's like old days when we had soundtracker for the first time on ST, magic. Now on Amiga =] It seems you aren't alone ST coder to now code on it. ^__^
To my hears wings of death 5 is one of the tunes that are hard to emulate. Many sound incredible. Maybe it could run even at 44KHz on a 68020? Having a single voice mixing and 3 others for games or simply Amiga music is fantastic. And, yes, I liked a second disk with famous games tune as well, goldrunner, vixen, speedball etc But probably other people can do it if you release a player ;)
great stuff :)

impressive! Any chance of getting it running on 1MB chipmem miggies? Using MEMF_ANY instead of MEMF_FAST if you reserve ram with AllocMem would help

@Crumb : It's working with 1MiB chip ram only ( at least in all winaue config I tested). Could you PM me with details about your exact configuration? leonard.oxg@free.fr

@teo, no he means that it runs in WinUAE when 1meg chip is set as the memory config (without any other RAM)

Of course it runs with 512k chip and 512k any extra memory :)

Hi

Due to popular demand during Revison live stream, we succeed in adding "Akira vs Sangoku" song by Jess. 266 songs into the disk, and almost no byte left, at all!

Keep using pouet final link to download!

enjoy!

@HellMood your 256 bytes is just black magic! Awesome!

Been running this on my A1200 for the last 2 evenings and it's so good. Thanks so much for relasing this!
Two questions tho:
1- The play order is (semi?) randomized, correct?
2- Are there any controls? Can't figure out how to skip or select specific tracks...

you're right, the songs order is shuffled at startup time ( except the intro music of course ). The shuffling is done by section ( there are 4 music sections : exclusive, modern, post-madmax and old madmax ). There is no way to control the random shuffle.

You can select any song with left click, or jump to next random song by right click anytime. If you want to listen to a specific section, the best way is to manually play each song of the previous section by left click each song one second, then let the system play the rest randomly
