Pitty its in german. But there should be a english version coming soon. Looks nice.

Some really nice scenes, but a bit too long winded in my opinion.

So many things in this prod! Powerfull code, astonishing constructed-deconstructed 3d scenes and beautifull environments auround (the short city flyby!). Special thumb up for the music. Wow, that's a winner prod! Gr8 gr8 work!

Awesome GFX! But time to time it was a bit boring.

good suprise from BP... very nice scenes .. some lesser quality stuff from time to time but who cares ... a nice demo made with style
added on the 2005-03-28 by nytrik
Some scenes are really cool, some just "ok". This demo should be shorter but better.
added on the 2005-03-28 by Manwe
Very cool, but you really have to understand the lyrics to fully appreciate the graphics!
added on the 2005-03-28 by beavis77
my favorite fromm the compo. i instantly fell in love with zyprexa last year, and this one is even x times better. great dnb soundtrack, great visuals.
added on the 2005-03-28 by dipswitch
interesting. was a lot better than the most of the others.
added on the 2005-03-29 by Lupin
Really like this one. Sometimes the scenes don't flow extremely well, but overall it gives a nice feeling. It's filled with FX we've seen before but too seldom (puff ball, shader water) and some nice sync. Love the surprising transition to the last graphic. Nice!

Good work, was one of the best shown at the compo. What about choosing the language of the slogans before the demo starts? Would be no bad Idee I think. 8)

With a little tweaking and shortening, this could've been excellent. It's not bad now either, but shows much more potential..

Piggy. Some scenes and objects could be much better.

really sweet design!
added on the 2005-03-29 by Kojote
nice indeed.. could be improved a little definitely, but this is great stuff even so. Some beautiful scenes in there. I've seen the lyrics in some other demo i remember.. must dig that one out, i remember that was good too.
added on the 2005-03-29 by psonice
A lot of real good looking scenes and effect, another one of my favorites!
added on the 2005-03-29 by Optimouse
Sweet, but a bit boring (expecially after 27 demos, if you were at the party you know what I mean) :D
added on the 2005-03-29 by dixan
Interesting, however, why the loading time of 1+ minute ?

The greetings scene ruled !
added on the 2005-03-29 by Navis
If there are problems on slower hardware especially if there is a error Message (irgendsowas wie) vertexBufferCreation failed, try disable the stencil in the demoCFG.. Like Crest told me. Ansonsten binsch ziemlich zu frieden mit dem Entry..

- lots of bad looking scenes
- bratwurst language ;)
- bad dialog coding:

respect guys for the vast graphic design improvement. zyprexa - despite its strong points - felt incoherent in this very aspect. the graphics here are superior not only to previous bauknecht/lkcc prods, but they are highly remarkable in the context of demos released in recent years. great color schemes used, stylish 3d objects design.

ok, i won't say everything is superb and also some less obvious recycling of zyprexa could've been taken. especially because the new effects feel very fresh and original, note for example the credits. in the end, it has an interesting, deep touch. music is nice, though sire did it with more 'balls' in zyprexa in my opinion.

looking forward to the final.

+ lyrics; images by nero; rockneedle; greetings; outro
- long
- inbalanced emphasizing of parts
- timing
- intro
- sometimes incosistent colors
- blurry & undetailed scenes
- next time it should be fewer parts but with more quality

I really learned a lot with this production, but as beeing it my 2nd I am quiet happy with it. A version with English lyrics will be out within a few days. I am not sure if I will spent a lot of time in finetuning a fiinal version. I have the head full of ideas for future productions and there is not much time to assembly and evoke ;-)

BTW: getting the third place after the brilliant entries of mfx and plastic fills me with pride. Thanks to all who liked trocken and voted at BP.

To extract the music you need to edit the demo.cfg and change "extractContainer false" into true.

A version with english lyrics will be out this week.

Yeah ofcourse not that coherent as it should be.. But the scenes are applied to the lyrics and thus coherent indeed. Pitty that the english version takes so long.

the best of all BP 2005 demos. Power massive rendering with many many good designed abstract scenes featuring good music.

Watched it again and now that I'm not drunk, and with my pitiful German, I can actually almost understand what it says.

I love this demo. I love love love it. The visuals have a deep sense of suddenness and an edge, the music fits like a glove and the composition of some scenes is unlike I've never seen before in a demo. Also, the 2d graphics are awesome.
added on the 2005-04-04 by elsewhere
Best style of all bp05 demos, definitely. The DnB soundtrack rocks, and those scenes just make you long for more on every cut. Not a single second boring, this is how demos should be.
added on the 2005-04-04 by kb_
Bauknecht always submitted interesting but somewhat strange demos at every easter, but this time you managed to make a demo which really touched me. I even liked the breakbeat tune - keep on with the good work!

after watching it several times just to enjoy the music, i looked at the lyrics a little closer and found that there is actually a lot of sense in them and that the whole composition of the demo just fits perfectly. amazing. a demo that gets better the more i watch it. and i now hope i'll never have to take zyprexa. =)
added on the 2005-04-20 by Krill
Hmm... I don't care for this as much as everyone else. The 2D was extra cool, but I found the music drab and none of the effects caught my attention.
added on the 2005-04-23 by thom
nice.
added on the 2005-04-23 by got

the demo somehow fails for me as a whole // still, it got some incredible moments, in particular the water scenes kixx! // as about soundtrack, just another one of these pretentious d'n'b tunes of the demoscene -- and i'm not sure if i'm glad for those, who doesn't hear a difference //

in any case, there's enough of visual beauty to thumb it up!

added on the 2005-05-02 by raver
raver: i wish "real" dnb would be more like the tune in there. and the lyrics are still what makes this demo unique.
added on the 2005-05-02 by Krill

added on the 2005-05-05 by Kauto
final version gives still me "IniFile::loadIniFile - file not found:demo" when ran from totalcmd - someone should really check for spaces in the directory name hm? ;)

otherwise it dies out with a lovely "FailedToInitialize static VertexBuffer" errorbox. yes i disabled stencil.

ideas?

to many scenes but most of them consisted fancy polygons only. precalculated metaballs suck, greetings rock. nice music also.
added on the 2005-12-17 by Optanes
Anesthetic: I don't know if you want to put me angry, but i never used precalculated metaballs. BTW how do you precalc them? Isn't it more work to precalc them then using real ones?
added on the 2005-12-18 by mad
wow. This is jam-packed with effect after effect. it does seem to go on and on a little, but the visual style is very interesting; with some very cool 2D mixed in nicely. Sountrack isn't uberspecial, but it still sounds very good, and fits. a keeper.

Having just revisited this one, my comments :

Luck of any stylistic coherence. It is just an 'object' fest, even worst, those objects are uninteresting, full of intersecting polygons.

Colorstyle all over the place. There is one scene that is (255,0,0) red, the next one is (255,255,0) yellow etc.

People say 'there are effects after effects'. Where ? I saw some nice 'water' and the token metaballs with something that looked like token 'emboss' mapping. Uninteresting, put in the middle of a skybox, and overlaid with a post-processing effect.

Speaking of which, why the heavy use of that ugly 'Knights' Storm'-type radial blur filter. It is aliased as hell and you can spot the 15-odd layers from miles.

So can you spot the JPEG artifacts on the (many, and I would say nicely drawn) pictures.

It is also slow, getting something like 25-odd fps on a 9600XT. The framerate seems to go up and down depending on use of 'filtering' or context - not a good thing.

All in all, I think they could keep some of the nice scenes (like that one with the water for example) and throw away about 50% of the others. I liked the music, for the first 3 minutes it was interesting. Then.. sort of looped.

I'll leave the piggie, as this 'could' have been a piggie/rules demo.

From Bauknecht comes a demo that varies between feelings of bathing in bright sunlight in perfect

happiness and in a peaceful place with a serene state of mind. Their design is very clean, nuskoolish.

Pure colours and simple geometric shapes are utilized to great effect. The soundtrack stomps on steadily

and at a fairly fast pace, machine-like but without any disruptiveness adding a sense of technological

sophistication.

And it all makes perfectly sense when you read the message they are delivering, it seems

to be a celebration of modern medicine's efforts against mental illnesses and a portrayal of the effects

of drugs on a disturbed mind. Trocken leaves a lasting impression by it's sheer beauty and freshness,

it's visual qualities perfectly represent the statement it chooses to issue. That is really as much as

anyone can ask from art: delight to behold and thoughtful.
