No doubt it's a classic. One of the best 64Kb PC intros of all time. It's cute, sounds good, runs smoothly, it's a great idea and fun to watch. I see no mistakes in this production.

Great! An 64kb demo with great design/idea! And I always like 3d cartoon demos :)

A 64K classic.
added on the 2001-10-04 by Vip
The drawing is nice, and when it wakes up to life -> woow.

And I like the paperplanes :)
added on the 2001-10-06 by Wain
The drawing-pencil section is absolutely amazing. Total classic.

I wish i where at Wired 96.
added on the 2001-11-19 by rydi
vic and statix are a wonderfull team. i especially like the "behaviour animation"-part (though it's almost certainly fake :) with the paper-planes.
added on the 2001-12-13 by gloom
One of the best PC intros ever, a classic that is =) Must see.
added on the 2002-01-02 by drstranger

thubs up!
added on the 2002-01-23 by rac
Blew me away when i first saw this... (music was simply average but there was that something special in the prod itself)
added on the 2002-01-23 by uncle-x
Simply lovely and effective, even if I had no GUS the first time I saw it :D
added on the 2002-01-23 by dixan
yeee!
added on the 2002-02-09 by jull
Now THIS is what i call creativity. The moment where the scenery began to move was SO cool at W'96
added on the 2002-02-21 by kb_
very good idea, the start scene rules a lot !!!
but the other effects (they are good) do not
fit the rest of the design and kill the thumb up to stay an ok prod imho
added on the 2002-02-21 by Zone (leZone)
a classic.
the part where the whole drawing comes to life is just too nice.. the paper airplanes own too :)
statix+vic super dynamic duo were just warming up ;)
added on the 2002-03-08 by ps
Neat
added on the 2002-03-08 by boik
A so great idea ! A definite classic in PC history.
added on the 2002-03-22 by willbe
A must see
added on the 2002-05-19 by shash
Really cool. A real pity that I don't have a GUS, I'd really like to have heard Vic's music. I agree that some of the non-cartoonish scenes didn't fit so well, but fortunately they didn't manage to ruin this great intro.
added on the 2002-06-27 by DiamonDie
my alltime favorite when it comes to 64k
added on the 2002-06-27 by dipswitch
DiamonDie: http://www.dc5.org/demodulate/download.php?id=222 :)

(and a thumb - wish I were there when everyone was making paper airplanes)
added on the 2002-06-27 by phoenix
statix is the originallity-man
added on the 2002-07-16 by ileaardbei
haven't commented this yet? thumbs up for the first demo with cartoon rendering (I think), and definitely a very goodloking implementation of it...

also, the scenes are cute, and so is the scene with the paper airplanes.
added on the 2002-07-16 by ryg
the idea is cool. I want to see more 2D - 3D switches in Demos
added on the 2002-07-16 by diver
i remember my jaw dropping when the first 3D scene started to move :-)

added on the 2003-01-30 by FooLman
added on the 2003-01-30 by Gargaj
Golden oldie. Done in the era when people still thought showing a torus or env. bumped chunk on of grid effect was enough. Luckily Statix showed the rest that you can actually be even innovative in demo making. Respect.
added on the 2003-01-30 by melw
It has MUSIC? w00t!
First time I saw it I was already impressed by the time the scene became 3d... I was speechless.
added on the 2003-04-06 by crusader
A classic.
added on the 2003-07-21 by psonice
This is one of those times when there should be a triple-rulez vote. The music is every bit as good as the graphics and design, which knocked me flat on my ass the first time I saw it.
added on the 2003-11-19 by Hunsvotti
wow, Nice Intro
added on the 2003-11-19 by tolemaC
What a cool intro that was... Great music too!
added on the 2003-12-15 by dnes
I remember the precise moment when the camera moved into the scene that everybody thought was only pure 2D... Everybody at the party just went: "Wooow" and clapped... One of the best 64Kb ever...
added on the 2003-12-15 by gedeon
yeah, this was a moment at Wired 96..!!!
I think all were stunned to see this.
This somehow also set a new limit since such things were never shown in 64k..
added on the 2003-12-27 by phred
respect! great graphics and ideas, the drawing part is brilliant. no gus in here :( shame on me
added on the 2004-01-13 by sergeeo

really great production. I liked this very much back then
added on the 2004-04-19 by nitro2
Absolutely brilliant!
added on the 2004-04-19 by Vulture
Oh yes, absolutely brilliant indeed. And it works under DOSBox! Still better than most intros around. I go "ooh" every time the drawing starts to move
added on the 2004-05-10 by elsewhere
Hello, I would like one creative please. Thank you. Hey, dude, you gave me like 4 creative. Really? I can have them? SWEET!
added on the 2004-05-16 by ζχψωβ
Very very nice. Works almost perfectly in DOSBox too ;)
added on the 2004-06-26 by wb

added on the 2004-09-15 by tomaes
This ROCKS! Total classic, crashed my BBS HD but I had a GREAT time at Wired!

And it works great with DOSBox! Woot!!!
added on the 2004-10-11 by Compile
This intro blew my mind when I first saw it. The second time around, i got a bit bored. Still a damn good prod, and still quite unique.
added on the 2004-11-05 by witeshade
this is a damn good intro. i have no clue why isn't it famous...
added on the 2004-12-29 by leaderc
This is the intro that astonnished me the most! I have to download it and see it again to see if it still has this much impact nawadays!! I loved it so much!

Best Statix 64k prod IMHO (the only?), very good code & Great idea.
The last time I saw this I had a P133 with GusEmu32. Going to try it with With DosBox now on my P4 2,4GHz!

Can't believe I never commented on this one. Loved it when I first saw it back then, loved it when I watched in dosbox last night. Great stuff.
added on the 2005-07-16 by troll
Fantastic, great way the planes fly and some really excellent music in this one too - furthermore this I believe was one of the first productions to used interpolated grids.

A real classic.

Sorry for being 10 years late with this thumb. Productions like this made me feel comfortable with the PC when the Amiga was still my number one computer. Actually I think this one beats the crap out of most other productions regardless of platform. Definitely in my all time top 10!
added on the 2007-07-03 by noname
cute

Very impressive "shaders" :D
added on the 2007-07-04 by xernobyl
Really nothing special. The intro effect is quite cool, but the rest leaves a lot to wish for. I suppose, it was fine back then, but I have to give my own contemporary vote.
added on the 2007-08-10 by Nutman^IRIS
kicks ass
added on the 2007-08-15 by marlowe
this was the demo that really hooked me into the scene. an inspired little 64k that even managed to run on every pc i tried it on without having to spend ages pissing around in autoexecs and configs. bliss. and with the style and subject it's something that even non-sceners could enjoy in 1996. still one of my favourites

The soundtrack is far from impressive but the code is awesome. Nice feeling. A bit short though, but then again this is a 64k from 1996 ;).

One of the first really outstanding PC 64ks
added on the 2009-02-08 by TS
The design innovation in the beginning is worthwhile, even though the show later decays to standard 1990s 64K intro stuff.
