THIS IS EMPA OF ZEAL WRITING...
ALIVE release date: 30/10-93
This is ZEAL's first production, and you are free to use it whereever
you like (in compiles and stuff)...
Everything (exept polyrout and the 'double slime') was coded by me during
three weeks of extremly hard work... I managed to get all the routines
running in 50 frames. All grafix was also painted during those three
weeks. The music was sampled from 2unlimited's DELIGHT (instrumental
version).
I like to say some words about the ATARI -company -future -scene
To me, ATARI seems to screw everything up!!! That sure is a shame!
Now they got two fucking great machines (FALCON030 and JAGUAR), and
if they screw it... I'll hate them... I hope you have heard about
the JAGUAR, if you haven't:
- Jaguar is a 64 bits home entertainment machine
- It can throw 50 000 000 pixels/sek (!)
- It can display textured gouraud shaded polygons (by hardware!)
- 16 bits sound (same as for FALCON030)
- It can morf things in total realtime (!)
and even more...
The future for ATARI (and AMIGA) doesn't look to bright but I think
that if YOU and your CREW make something (a demo or a game for example)
that's good it will survive longer... Everyone is complaining about the
ST(E) being a dead machine, but WE are the ones who are killing it!
The ATARI scene is rather week. We hope that it will grow stronger
and that more crews will pop up!!! If we are to get a better scene we
have to think about the design!!! The design is everything - the code
can be shit but if you have a good design it will look good!!!
I've been one of the lucky guys having a FALCON030 for a while. And I
can say that its a very good computer, but there are some fucking bad
sides, too. The blitter is much too slow (and it's NOT independent).
The processor (68030) must be much more faster than just 16Mhz!!!
But it's good, I shouldn't complain!!!
