What's this
ßßßßßßßßßßß
"Downbeat" is the second musicdisk following "Digital Domination", Union's
first musicidisk. This is a compilation of tracked music from various
composers. It's multi-group, meaning that most of the songs aren't from Union
members. The Union members involved with this disk are: Ded Silence, Future
Assassin, Nova, Lord Pegasus and I (Populus). I hope you will like this
'revival' musicdisk which once again confirms Union's strong place in the
scene.
A third disk is on the way. I can't confirm any dates, but it will be
probably in two months (hopefully). It will include more music from Union
members, since we are accepting new musicians among us. Mail me at:
populus@direktor.voima.jkl.fi for more info, or reach us on own IRC channel
#union.
But I (Populus) is releasing very soon a solo disk titled "Earthfall" which
will include some tunes that were either left out or new ones.
Credits go out to The Specialist aka Pierre-Philippe Stevens who coded the
whole thing in read-mode assembler, except for the music player which is
Midas Sound System .40a. This is his first world-wide release on the
Internet and debut code for Union. Also, thanks to Quisling for the superb
"Downbeat" logo used in the flash scrolling. I (Populus) did the interface
(nothing to get exited about) and the jungle style Union logo. And of cource
all of the musicians that agreed to chip in and help us out make this a
quality product. My thanks to all of you.

- 1 MB Expanded Memory (EMS)
General Keys

"Downbeat" is relatively easy to use. One way is to use the mouse. If you
can't, use the keyboard keys, which are:
ESC ..............................................Exit to DOS
"+" & "-" ........................................Change song
"*" & "/" ......................................Change patern
SPACE .........................................Change VU Bars
Note: Clicking on the huge UNiON logo in the player changes the VU Bars.

Union's "Downbeat Musicdisk" contains many different styles of music and from
various regions around the world. It also has music from the Amiga and PC
side of the music scene. It has some rare reason no techno at all. Which is
pretty rare considering the situation of the music scene now. Here is the

Known Bugs
ßßßßßßßßßß
Unfortunatly, some bugs still exist in the player. Mostly with the mouse
and some SVGA cards. Then you'll have to miss out on the powerful hi-res
interface with comes with "Downbeat" and you'll have to use your own player.
We recommend using Cubic Player 1.4 or Scream Tracker 3.21.
