The Attic by Digital House
This is some text about why we had to re-release The Attic...
We tested the demo on Cirrus Logics, S3's, ... plus some good old
ISA cards. However we didn't test on ET4000 and BANG ! It appears
that some cards do *not* accept negative values for their Start
Address Register ! Now, this was pretty shitty, 'coz the demo was
full of 'tricks' based on changing SAR from positive to negative
and back. So, crash here, crash there, noise and no image. The
only thing I could do about it was fixing the memory and realloca-
ting all piccy's so only positive SAR's were needed. Thereby,
ATTIC was bugfixed and rereleased. ATTIC.ZIP is the old version,
works only on some cards, ATTICFIX.ZIP is this version, works on
most (?) cards. "Most", 'coz 2 bugs remain :
1) Some VGA cards go TILT when the credits loop. CL doesn't, ET4000
does, S3 doesn't.... Ahem.
2) The Interrupt may fuck up the music when you exit : hitting ESC
sometimes turns the music to noise. This has nothing to do with
the VGA ;).
