saufen bis zum knast.

While I'm writing this, I'm still suffering from a bad beer/rum hangover of yesterday night's boozing fest. Also happy to announce I consume more then 5 grams weed a week, and smoke half a pack of cigs a day.

First post on pouet ever, you guys finally bring up some topic where I fit in, and that got me out of my lurker position :-)

i quit smoking, too. or at least very close to it, i allow myself to smoke when i'm getting drunk.

optimus, i recommend starting smoking in army; it helps you wasting time. ofcourse it's good idea to quit when you've finished army, though :)

i believe optimus has his gamepark handheld console with emulators and classic adventure game engines. that's a better and more culturally valuable way of wasting time at hand.

when given the opportunity i drink until my talkativity is at a pleasant level. never smoked a cigarette, though

Yep, so do they say but then maybe it will be too hard to quit. Hopefully I still can almost not get it. On the army, time passes away by my worries, thoughts, I am the strange person there who looks all alone but his focus of thoughts being somewhere else. I don't talk. I don't smoke. Anxious thoughts

I really hate it now. I am on the netcafe and it's all around! Some people here say that smoking is a social thing. I've heard that in other countries the smoker has to go out in the cold and leave his friends to have a smoke. In Greece, a large ammount of the population smokes. Some statistics say 80% but that's too much, maybe it's not a right statistic and it doesn't clearly state if 80% smoke as a habit or have smoked once in their life. I'd say 50% but generally it's quite big. Here, if you don't smoke they may look at you strange. When someone tells the smokers to go out to finish their cigarrete, they may call him a fascist. And there is a big debate on that one in the greek blogs. Also the women smoke a bit more than men here. Strange..

But that weed would be a nice alternative to try once :)

I can't use the GP32 yet :(

That's because there are few free times for the soldiers atm, and some of the most lengthy ones are when we sleep in the midday. The guy sleeping below me doesn't like that I click on my mobile phone because the keys makes sound and GP32 makes more clicky clicky so I left it on my bug and never dared to use it then. Later, at the smaller free times, people go out, etc. And I go with the people too to chat with them and drink coffee (well I never drink coffee but that's how we call socialization with friends), I wouldn't like to be alone in the room at those times but rather stay with people. Even though I am bored. I wanted to try the GP32 in sleep but it annoys people :(

Maybe when I get a transfer after 3 weeks to another camp with less people and plenty of time to get bored, things will be diferrent. How can the little clicky clicky on my mobile annoy? And people get annoyed here because they are angry because of the army stupidity and have little fights with others, everybody has nerves and I can't be creative even if I had a laptop. Too much people in one room :PPP

I don't smoke and never will.
on the other hand I like beer and alot of other alcoholic drinks. but unlike others I really like the taste, not only the fact that they contain alocohol.
to quote wayfinder when we found out that I like dark chocolate alot and he likes white chocolate : "oh yeah, I remember you also drink beer because you like the taste"
=)

that since then i constantly try to cut down the nasty habit, and looking forward to quit it by the end of the year

not gonna working. cutting down is a good idea, until you find out that you're actually still smoking. setting it as a goal in the far future won't work out too. just quit. now.

is that really a valid point for people over 16? i mean, there's plenty more accessibly flavoured alcoholic drinks (to be made) than beer. i can't imagine someone would drink beer without liking the taste at least a bit.

hey, dark chocolate is the only chocolate enjoyable! and of course certain beer TASTES good. like kölsch. :)

dalezy: sorry but thats standard blahblah. i can't quit NOW. i tried to quit 4 weeks ago, and i did NOt smoke for 1 week (which is very unusual for me), but then i stopped writing because i lost all energy and concentration. and i still have to write over 10 pages till next week. so there's nothing wrong in setting a goal for the future. indeed it's not just "aufschiebung" but i'm actually looking forward to the time when i can take myself 2 weeks off, and do NOTHING besides of eating good food (and food actually tastes much better when you stop smoking!), reading books and NOT smoking. this is how it can work out. otherwise it won't.

Dipswitch: If you really want to quit, there is nothing that stops you from doing so. I second Dalezy, saying that "I will stop smoking next month/year/decade whatever" is not gonna work. I know what I am speaking about! I just quit smoking from one day to the other and it wasn't that hard! And saying you need a week off to be able to quit smoking is nothing more than a lousy excuse, at least for me. And if it's not "aufschiebung", what is it then?

The only people I've known who have successfully quit smoking did it cold turkey.
code more, drink less.

because you don't want to. and i'm not going to push you into it, i just left a hint about how it's actually working.

hehe my story:

I was sneaked into vodka via leunam when he borugh back polish stuff from a satellite trip. Later on we started at euskal party to organize the big boozing + partying trips, one of the years I recall we reached 80 people in the same group flooding any bar we got into. yeah lots of fun... also in these same parties tried weed and liked it but only when NOT mixed with regular tobacco.

So, nowdays I try to keep a btter balance at parties, not too many drinks... although the german way of not having regular water (without gas, "still water") implied I had to start drinking beer as a substitute with great effects for my photos at slengpung.

Nowdays drifted a bit into red or white wine (lambrusco works great ^^) sometimes when having dinner, it tastes good and doesn't give any headaches provided you don't get the cheapest one available.

winden: they do have regular water in germany, you just have to be careful about which brand you buy at the supermarket.

last breakpoint i found out a small outled just opposite of strankerburger hotel where they had still water... i bough out all 5 bottles he had and coming back to the hotel all just-awaken-with-big-headache spaniards really liked the water given.

what do you use for drink-headache over there???

ham: real life has it's charms sometimes ;)

Well, you should just have stayed indoors, they were selling still (non-sparkling) water at the partyplace :-)
