I am not sure. What is soul? If it is that rare feeling you get when you watch a new demo, that feeling that suddenly the scene is not dead, a demo that you want to make love with, you've just seen and had to feel like that 5 years ago, then I think I felt like this at first with Heaven7 and later with 1995. There are many other spectacularly good demos but I've felt that special feeling with very few of them. 1995 is the latest one and I approximate to feel the same thing at 2008 :)

look at my cdc - it has soul, lots of soul.

but the problem is, some people feel it, some people dont.

Falcon:

"E.X. Illusion" by Aura (the most underrated demo on any platform, ever)

"Lost Blubb" and "Warum" by Lazer (all their stuff was special, no exceptions)

"Beams" by TSCC (best designed demo on falcon, great concepts and very lovable)

ST:

"Ooh Crickey, wot a scorcher" by The Lost Boys (100% feel good demo)

I would have included the Synergy demo here, but this choice is influenced by music ;)

"Dark Side of The Spoon" By Unlimited Matricks (seeing an overscan parallaxing 8 directional scroller on a mere STf made me drop my jaws to the ground. but besides that it's also a feelgood demo in another way too.)

C64:

"Dutch Breeze" by Blackmail (fantasy =))

PC:

help me out here, i remember some really nice demos from ~93 or so which featured silhouettes of dancers and were partially randomized. i can't stand it when i don't remember names...

I also liked that sunflower demo from pulse, but in not that knowledgeable on the pc scene history..

earx: sounds like state of the art and 9fingers, tho those were amiga and from the mid nineties not the early nineties

I think 1992 and 1993 qualifies as "early 90ies"..
