Ojuice dead?

category: general [glöplog]
Things are on their way but it will take a little bit more...

Finally server had a serious hardware trouble and both the motherboard was dead, but the HD crashed seriously too.

Chandra and a friend have managed to recover all the files from it sometimes digging in the filetables...

Now, as Poliris will move, it's been decided to change host. Stuff has started with OVH host company and they offer a plan of 44 € for 300GB/month. Meanwhile another solution is being explored that could lead to free hosting! Anyway even 44 € is cheaper than what hosting cost before at Poliris.
Things are a bit long to setup because of the association status and administrative stuff like direct donnations transfer matters.

Then, all files (db, mp3, etc) have to be transfered to the server and the service has to be setup, main stream relayed, etc.. This will take a few more weeks

Regarding all this, Yes expect Ojuice and Nectarine to be fully up in their actual version in the beginning of December.

That's a while more to wait... :-/
Now, you've been informed that the Orange Juice administrators are not dying in their own excrements. ;)

While ojuice is down, you can substitute with plopbox: http://www.plopbox.net/ .. also saves a lot of bandwidth.

plopbox really should have a stereo/mono switch... the hard 2/2 panning of the amiga just never cut it.

There’s a rumour that OJuice will be back.
It's a bit more than a rumour, it's more like a rotating banner on the Evoke bigscreen.
