Splice (www.splicemusic.com) v2.0 relaunch!

category: general [glöplog]

After almost 9 months of hard work we're happy to announce the new version of Splice -- now with realtime synths and audio DSP effects!!!

http://www.splicemusic.com/

The original Splice team consists of fellow sceners fthr/TPOLM, me and before also Mellow-D/md/kschzt. With the new version we had special help from the Berliner Flash guru André Michelle and the Belgian audio-DSP guru Bram de Jong (of SupaTrigga fame, now available also in Splice!).

Right, I was just checking the site and I've found this:
http://www.splicemusic.com/songs/crankshaft/tactical-battle-loop-splcv2-rmk/remix/

Besides it takes a bit long to load, there is a very interesting thing I've been able to see now.

When the MP3 was introduced, when we started to use and the parties had categories for MP3 musics, a couple of musicians (trackers) hated the idea because they weren't able to see the patterns anymore. They weren't able to see if the guy had a loop or did the rythm by hand.

I guess you know what I mean, although that track from Crankshaft it's a remake, I can see all this from a new point of view.

(And no... this is not any kind of clever marketing or anything... =_=)
