EVOKE: have you entered your visit yet?

category: general [glöplog]
rokus: the native instruments workshop will last around 1-1,5 hours, depending on how much interest is there. they'll demonstrate how some sound synthesis programs work, so they'll exactly show some musicians (and coders who always wanted to know how sound in that matter works) how they can achieve the sound they want for demo soundtracks.

i'm pretty sure a lot of people will be very interested in this. if you're not, then you're just...not. :)
i for myself am very happy that they agreed to do that. it's something completely different from what i've experienced on demo parties so far.

PeteGabe: maybe you'll even have your beer at the stage where the workshop will be. you never know, hm?

although i must admit that on the other hand i have hardly EVER seen such a great park area around a demo party place. you all will be thrilled like hell when you see it. there is so much space, and the park around the location is so beautiful.

to say it shortly: it'll be GREAT! :)

i'm actually already looking forward to that NI presentation, they made some pretty nifty stuff. plus, they sure as hell know most of the audience are hobbyist amateurs, and we all know about the general attitude of hobbyist amateurs towards paying for software (and i'm sure NI know that too). hell, they're just a damn cool company.

richard: of course NI knows - as probably every other software manufacturer - about software piracy.
but they also know that amateurs becoming professionals will buy the software they use and that people will buy the software they know and that they have worked with.
so the software industry DOES have an interest in supporting subcultures like us.

by the way, you're all welcome to download the official evoke Z003 invitation song here.

Here are some news...

- CHEAP TRAIN FROM EAST GERMANY. Coming from Berlin or East Germany and still not knowing how to get to Evoke? There is a private traincompany called InterConnex that is offering cheap trainrides from Rostock via Berlin to Cologne and back. Two Evoke organizers tested this route last week and it was quite comfortable, so check it out at www.interconnex.com

- WLAN BEER GARDEN. Another good news we'd like to share with you. There's a beer garden some hundred meters from the partyplace, which offers free WLAN internet access. Sounds weird, but is true. So, if you'd like to check your emails while having a cold beer outside, bring a WLAN card alongside your notebook.

See you next week!

i heard it's also allowed to access that beer garden WITHOUT your laptop!

netpoet: 1) ofcourse. i wasn't trying to imply that NI would _just_ come over to evoke because they're nice guys :)

2) BIG UPS FOR THE TUNE! How about putting the lyrics online somewhere so that we can learn them by heart easier? I'm sure a nice canon karaoke contest could be organised around this. or something.

eggbird, the lyrics are hidden inside the nfo-file.

and you all better bring some sausages or whatever you want grilled, because on friday (at least) we will set up some grills for the masses.

anyone interested in helping us turn around the steaks and stuff? :)

i also suggest putting up a link after having posted something on this forum. by clicking "back" you post your stuff another time. lucky me, sorry for that.
