Bad Mood,. what demos to watch???

category: general [glöplog]

Hiyekss. I am crazy now,,,. I was chaotic, only fuckin exams are my news, I am far away from my computers (Check my babes! http://users.auth.gr/mkargas/opticomp.htm) I do nothing creative (Except some creative dreams floating in my mind right now :P) I am generally crazy :(
I joined today the C-64 channel with the nick kahmeno. Kahmeno means poor in greek. Then someone told me that he wrote me in eurogay mlist just to make me happy, but I don't think that this works... ;-(

Because I know that I will be just as crazy as today for several days, till the end of exams, before the demoaction,. I was wondering what demos would you suggest to make my mood better. I don't prefer now necesarry coderswise things, but something with nice music, escaping into other demoworlds, even cubez, even replayish stuff,.. just the ones with some nice, or sad music, with feeling or something, to flow inside and escape my reality for a bit.. I will go now because Icafe,. but waiting for your suggestions...

Your Optimus

U could sent me an emaill and tell me funny things or everything if u want,. I want gud emailz pliz =)

I am going to walk the way home alone now, to discuss with myself about my personal concepts and chaotic self and everything.. thanks the demoscene for beeing an escape..

I keep faith.

Nature v2.0/Threepixels, Gerbera/Moppi, Incyber/Satori, Singularity/Zden+Distance, Sunflower/Pulse, Multikolor/Kolor, Mikrostrange/Haujobb, Sleepless/Smash, Art/Haujobb.
Elements/Haujobb, fr-011/Farbrausch, Retrograde/Black Maiden (these 3 especially for nice sound).

I dunno about you, but listening to Hunz' "Broken Wings" when I'm in a bad mood seems to help.

You can get it on his MP3.com page at http://www.mp3.com/hunz
My demo 'nil' was made in a down-phase, maybe it's appealing to you. :P Today I got a mail from this crazy japanese computer mag 'windows 100%'. They want that one on their cover disk. Ouchhhh. %-)

listen all the .YM from Amstrad CPC, your brain will sing bip-bip-bip with flowers and joy ,']
(use Leonard emu if you can only use a pc/amiga/linux/beos ...)

Thank you all for your suggestions! I still waiting for more if you want. I would like to know what are your demos you use for relaxation and not for seeing that damn highly impossible optimized coded routine..

After downloading all the suggestions, just to watch demos for making my mind escape from reality and not to admire a routine, I thought a bit diferrent. Usually I am downloading a demo in order to see some code. I understood that I should watch all these diferrent kinds of demos at the right mood. When I usually download a demo, I am expecting coders stuff, and if something like this falls in my hands I am bored to watch. (There can be several reasons to watch a demo. Others watch coder stuff,. others want to relax.. it depends on the mood) But I discovered that these demos are better watched for diferrent reasons and in diferrent conditions (Not with all the quakers here, and withno pace :P), I discovered there is a good meaning behind them which I hadn't understood before.

I think that several demos that I thumbed down once upon a time, because I didn't watched what I expected, and didn't understood the diferrent use of them (Like replay's ones), but I beleive I should check them oneday back again, with the right mood, in the right place, with all my pace,. when I will need to watch demos to relax and not to see coders stuff only.

Keep suggesting if you want! I will track down your suggestions for the future..

Zone: I have written a whole CD with Amstrad Ym blip blips =)

brioche: Hmm,. live! prods,. I will download nexttime, it seems like oldskool groups style gfx (Deus, Eclipse, Nooon, e.t.c..) Any more groups in the same style?

Thanks to all the others for the alternative demos some of them I don't use to watch cause I use to wait for coderwise stuff,. but I discovered now they may have a meaning too in the right mood..

I've always considerered vip2 by popsy team to be one of the most, if not the most, emotional demo I've ever seen.
And it works when you are in a bad mood too.
(please no vip2/anti-vip2 flamewar. I don't care if everything had been ripped, it's still nice to watch, and that was what he wanted)

I'd preffer Bizqs suggestions + tribes/pulse. -old and unbeatable!
I'd actually try not to recommend an old demo for someone who's down... since it might be very sad when you find you can't get any of them to run :)

I'd check "tribes by pulse" if i was in a bad mood :p
If it doesnt run then check 303 by Acme or Bleam by Lionhead. these are just my suggestions.. They always get me in the right mood!
Normally when I'm in a special mood for watching demos I turn the power on in my 486 and watch some old Orange and Halcyon demos.

And bigcheese, most of the oldies work right away if you just remember to boot with himem only and have a decent soundcard (GUS).

btw, if I'm no mistaken, 'windows 100%' is like a 98% porno mag.. 8)
their cover cd's are full of hentai games + some programs and demos.
