Anyone else got sick after BP08?

category: general [glöplog]
sore throat and minor cold, but that's it (traditional even); and i did spend a lot of time outdoors.

no flu, no stomach illness (which is strange as several orgas had this kind of stuff before the party, so it's probably our fault, sorry for that), but numbness in three of my left fingertips and an inflammation in both of my palms. Which is probably due to the stress i had to endure the last three months and which had its grand finale at BP.

Should seriously visit a doctor tomorrow. Damn.

You should seriously check the numbness. Problems with the nerv system shouldn't never be taken lightly!

kb: it may come from your spine. I'm deep in such problems and doctors say it's irreversible so take care of it when it's still not too late. too much sitting in front of a desk may do you that.

damn, I sense "what's your retirement plan?" thread appear next...

I had a numbness in fingers a while back.. it was just a pinched nerve combined with an inflammation in the wrist channel.

Back to the original topic: My girlfriend got a flu at BP, and while I've had like three flus in a very short period of time (a month or so), I feel one more coming up.. damn.

get well soon, everyone! Rule number one for getting ill: lack of sleep. Nuff said. :)

errr i meant reason, not rule. Ah whatever.

check, been sick since tuesday, but i mostly blame the night of camping at a train station and stuff like that, on the way back. i'm slowly getting better, and considering actually getting out today. sore throat first, moved to massive sneezing, headaches all the time - sounds like a ordinary decent cold.

We had at least one passenger on "The onion bus" (tm) (The danish bus) which had severe stomach problems on our way home.

Other than that I think this topic has been debated before, and I guess the conclusion is: such an amount of people in such a small space, behaving like they do (boozing, crashing on the floor, going to the toilet without washing their hands etc) will result in some people getting ill.

I havn't yet been ill after a Mekka/Breakpoint, but my body is always drained for several days afterwards.

flu + fever here too. i'm getting out of it, but it was terrible with headache. i wasn't ill in ages btw. i was a bit outside but not eating wurstpizzafood. i bet that such a tidy town like bingen could afford decent sanitation in its sportshall...

You weaklings - get better soon, eh? For me, only the usual slight stomach-ache on tuesday, not descending until wednesday (due to my old age ;) tiredness and slightly shaking hands - except for being slightly tired, all were due to the heavy boozing. Or maybe I just blame pepper schnaps and other nasty stuff.

Could be interesting to know how DDT or Steel/Brainstorm were feeling. Teehee.

Steel didn't return to the party hall on Sunday until the 64k compo. Heheheheh. Just when we started to get worried...

oh, steel - thanks for the massive drinks you tried to fuck me and reed up with during the awards, it worked great :D

my major ailment was that my hands were totally fucked up - knuckles were dry, cracked, bleeding and fingers a bit swollen. looked like i had punched someone/thing, which im (more or less) sure i didnt (if anyone knows otherwise.. :) ) but i think its just an allergy or skin condition or something. weird eh?

DDT is also very very sick with the flu.
Was still in Bingen on monday and spent the whole tuesday for travelling and felt ok. Got home wednesday-morning and the flu struck as soon as I opened my door. Oh well, better to be sick at home than being sick while travelling.

@earx: actually, smoking was NOT bad at the grandstand :)
Not only human germs were spread at BP. I've just plugged my pendrive and the antivirus software's announced some worm has been deleted from it. The last time this flashdisk was plugged into was at the party (possibly the organizers' machine when I submitted a Riverwash promo slide), so check your removables. Kaspersky deals with it easily.

you know what guys?
You should try the real life, it makes you go outside and meet many interesting germs... after a year, you should be prepared for next BP :)
bronchitis and a cold here

There was this virus just recently in Finland that caused enormous flu with 38-40 degrees fever that lasted for at least a week, usually with stomach disorders too. It just MIGHT be that we brought it for everyone's enjoyment :)

Of course it might be something totally different too.

WTF stonda, i had no idea you were at breakpoint :)

For getting sick: I still can't talk without sounding like I'm in voice changing mode.. But apart from that and the arm infection I had even before breakpoint, there's nothing..
