Farewell Lemmus

category: general [glöplog]
i guess his prods were so optimistic and colorful for a specific reason.

maybe pouet could go with a black banner in his honour for a while.

It's always sad to see another scener let go.
Your work will be remembered fondly.

We only had Lemmus in Loonies for the last year, but have known him long before that. He was extraordinary mathematically gifted, often comming up with the creative solutions to the hard problems (after which we would often implement them in the "real" languages).
He was really passionate about his work, always striving for perfection - would prefer delaying something a year instead of releasing it unfinished. I think Deeppan TFS really shows that.

Everyone is talking Atrium, but Peanut was really an intro that brought the Amiga 4k scene to a new level, and Deeppan TFS is maybe the most perfected 40k to date.
But ofcourse Atrium is to a great extent his work, basicly by playing around with the Candystall toolset for a loong time making very different things out of it.

I think this really came out of nowhere for us. My condolences to his family and friends..

Even though I didn't know him, it's always sad when a fellow demoscener passes away :(

Rest in peace.

a temporary solution to a lasting problem

here fixed that for you.
Only relevant if one perceives life as a problem, though. I hope for the best no one here ever does that for any longer than a split second.
Death is a natural process, there shouldn't be any need to hurry : stuff breaks and people die.

respect for the work on atrium: it blew my mind. Rest in peace.

I remember Rune mostly from the 90s where he and Blueberry were in Efreet, but after he joined Loonies we hung out at various group meetings. He was usually doing very cool shit, playing scene music LOUDLY (and on occasion annoyingly), and working with great intensity and energy. I'm glad I did get to know him, though it wasn't well enough at all.

He was a complex and unique guy. My poor artist brain couldn't really understand him since he was indeed very mathematically/logically oriented - so I guess it's not a surprise that his passing away was a total surprise to me, as it was to most if not all others. Who knows if anyone truly understood him.

RIP mate, I hope you would've liked the flowers.

*makes*

Peanut is a masterpiece, far beyond the others 4k intros when it was released.
