from the lumalive site:
Quote:
* Display panel
The standard Lumalive display panel is based on 14x14 RGB LED mounted on a thin and flexible substrate. Each pixel contains inorganic RGB LEDs. The display panel is covered with a splash waterproof protection cover.

* Control unit
The standard control unit is equipped with a single chip system processor and a FLASH memory for the storage of 10 minutes of unique animations. It includes a rechargeable Li-Ion battery and a USB interface for the drag-and-drop functionality of the content from the PC.

* Power consumption
The Lumalive system is powered by a rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery operates for 3 to 4 hours on one charge. After that the battery can be recharged again with the supplied battery charger.

* Content management
The animations, logo’s and text, designed with the mainstream graphic design programs, can easily be converted into a Lumalive playlist with our Lumalive Playlist software. The software is compatible with BMP, GIF or JPG files and it works under Microsoft Windows2000 or Microsoft XP

* Content storage
These playlists can easily be uploaded to the portable control unit via a USB connection, and displayed on the display panel

WANTS SO BAD!
That thing looks wonderful. Also, I wonder if it gets screwed if you wash it in a washing machine.

That looks really cool... :)
And you can wash it apparently:

Quote:
Can you wash it?
Cleaning is possible because of our unique way of designing the garments. First of all, the whole system is splash waterproof. If you want to clean/wash the garment, you can easily remove Lumalive components and refit it afterwards.

I just love the way it's described in one of the YouTube videos:
Quote:
"With LumaLive technology, you can create fabrics that carry dynamic advertisements, graphics, and even constantly changing color surfaces!

WOW! EVEN CONSTANTLY CHANGING COLOR SURFACES?! :)

IQ: you pick up hundreds of girls already. Armed with this, you'll be friggin' unstoppable :)

seriously,

such a thing could be fun as a demoplatform and in parties, but have you ever thought what it would be in everyday life ?

i tell you : a flashy nightmare, a non-stop aggression of ugly animations and half-funny messages like those post-feminist ones shown off by women ("i sux only the best cox"), the html1.0 design with gif animations and myspace horror turnt LIVE !!

oh la la! /o_O\
