With my A1200. If I click to quit workbench, it tells me that I can't, because there are 3 programms running which I should exit first.
Is there anything (command, key combination, prorgamm) to be able to see what is running in memory and exit or remove it? (I think that they are loaded in the beginning, but it's a bitch for me to open startup-sequence and remove things from there..)
Ok,. the A1200 will be mine with few money more (but I gave my old A500 back to the people who sell it to me.. just a lame misunderstanding/mistake of them.. and I will get the A1200 instead :) so I will be able to change everything I want, delete files I don't need, reinstall Workbench, e.t.c..
But I just want to know for the moment what I asked,. if you know.. I figured out that this was probably the problem why the dmag JPo9 didn't run at all! In a clean reboot with workbench from a disc, it could finally run..

2nd question:

I had got an RGB connector, manipulated, to work with my CPC monitor. It worked with old Amiga, but with new AGA, the colors are wrong. There must be a page with tutorial/info/scheme of how to solder and construct an RGB connector for AGA, to connect it with my CPC monitor (Which is RGB too it seems)

Ok,. I am abit illiterate with hardware matters, but it's nothing,. I just wanted to know where to find these infos. Any specific Amiga site with hardware projects like these? I want link if you know.. (Or else, send me txt file, if someone has done this before, connecting his AGA Amiga with CPC color monitor)

To see what tasks and processes are running in memory i recomend an excellent package called EXECUTIVE. this will allow you to manipulate all proccesses running in memory from scheduling them to completely removing them. It will make your Amiga run more efficiently too. It can be found on aminet at:

Yep, there just isn't anything to quit to. In other words, you can't quit workbench (where do you think you would arrive? :)).

But you can start without workbench (or also called without startup-sequence). Some demos even need this to run.

I don't really want to quit workbench,. it was just an example, if I can't quit, then I know that these applications are still loaded in there. JPo9 diskmag wouldn't run with all these, but either with a clean workbench, or removing the apps, would make it run..

Thanks! I am just downloading Executive. It seems a bit big (1,16MB) for an Amiga util..

you should find something about that on aminet, too. if not, try google. if that fails, get a proper monitor/tv :)

you can boot without loading workbench and the startup sequence to save some memory, Optimus... just click on both mouse buttons when booting if you didn't know about this :)

Exocet: This works too, thanx! I don't need now to boot up with a workbench disk to run jpo9.

However, I removed or broke applications running with execute, I found which were running at startup and taking place in memory,. but jpo9 wouldn't run again. (At least I can run it,. but I haven't found the source of the problem though... I am bitch on these, I really want to know what's going on with the machine and why something didn't succeed to run..)

YOu have a Harddisk in your Amiga, haven't you? With jp09, do you mean Jurassic pack 9?

If it runs without loading workbench and doesn't run with workbench, it's probably because you are low on Chip Memory. Check how much Chip memory you have (the max chip ram you can have is 2 Mb and when you boot without workbench, this is the method to achieve the highest possible free chip ram, some demos even request this to run).

Maybe some program is running in the background and taking up much chip-ram. What you can try is to boot into workbench but don't open any drawers. Go straight to the amiga shell and try to start jp09 from there. And check the amount of free chip ram.
