Youtube 3D service - yeah, would be really cool to upload demos there.

But unfortunately it's necessary that the videos are rendered in a "3D format" (the two perspectives are shown side-by-side or over-under). The iZ3D driver - freeware version - just supports a ready made anaglpyh pictures. Indeed it's possible to convert anaglyphs to side-by-side (ex StereoPhotomaker) but I don't know any software that converts anaglyph-videos back to side-by-side. [the way could be - iz3D & .kkapture + unknown software to render back to side-by-side]

Any suggestions ?

Btw: I like that google-3D stuff, but it would help much more to expand this thread with 3d compatible "Demos & Intros" and some screenshots or videos of this stuff !

ah, a software of that kind seems to be there

Okay, here is - one possible way - how it basically works (with that youtube 3d-stuff for example)

1.] capture the intro in anaglyph mode
(.kkapture didnt work for me, so I gave FRAPS (www.fraps.com) a chance. Worked fine !)

2.] convert the output file to VOB (used SUPER http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html)

3.] Use DVDtoStereoAVI to convert the anaglyph video to a side-by-side Video (http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stvmkr/dvdtoavi/dvdtostereoavi.htm) - unfortunately it's converted to grayscale video and demuxed !

4.] Find some piece of software that can mux the audio & video stream correctly (tried VirtualDub & AVI MUX).

To watch the result you can use Stereoscopic player (http://www.3dtv.at/Index_de.aspx).

The whole process is a little bit tricky since the different output containers created by the software in the different stages are partly not compatible (esp the part of muxing a Stereoscopic player compatible file) ... try it yourself !

As a result you get such a video (see screenshot) that can be transformed to 3D through all available techniques no matter if shutter glasses, anaglyph or 3d-lcd (just try Stereoscopic player or that youtube 3d)

How is the image processed to make the red/cyan image? does it hold any colour at all or is it basically just greyscale + offset?

If it's just greyscale, it should be pretty easy to separate, it would just be r = left eye, (g + b) /2 = right eye (perhaps with some colour balancing, which that screenshot above surely needs ;)

The above picture is a side-by-side 3D Image (Steroformat) which can be converted to anaglyph or any other 3D technique. Left and right picture only look equal but are rendered in different angles.

In this case the picture is the result of "back" convertation as described above. From the running intro with iZ3D captured in anaglyph mode (to this point colored) and afterwards separated - as described only in grayscale possible with DVD2StereoAVI - to two pictures for the left and the right eye.

nobody interested in testing / watching games/intros in 3D ?

What about a "seal" of "3D anaglyph compatible" or a fucking brand new compo "anaglpyh demos" ??? At least some new category here on pouet.net "iz3D / Nvidia anaglpyh" compatible or anaglpyh intro ? (could be hardcoded !)

a very sad LCS

No one is preventing that you make your own homepage about this stuff and link to pouet.net. So stop bitching around and start the work, if this is that important to you.

bäh .. seems that you've never heard something about "community".

Think about what would have happend to "Linux" (ex or all the other great open source stuff) if someone told Linus in the early stages "if you want a OS do it yourself all alone" (and afterwards we'll use it - but dont expect help hoho) .. nope, he set the basics and the community expanded it.

I don't cry, I just don't understand .. seems that the scene doesn't care about new stuff .. (btw. the thing about a new compo was something like a suggestion to demo event organizers ...)

so why don't you just fuck off .. you're that kind of guy that only takes and never gives and if the stuff that you take isn't at your prefered level you have a bitch about it ..

So .. sorry, no nice picture but only the statement
EVERYONE HATES FREELOADERS like you ..

linus didn't ask the community to do an Os for him. He started a kernel and ppl jump in.
as for an anaglyph compo...

After that I may take you seriously again, because you obviously have some "issues" with yourself.

A lot of movies contain beautiful tracking shots .. so why not take 2 pics of that and combine to 3D Picture ?

The pics are taken from Password Swordfish .. unfortunately it's not the blueray HD version, so the pictures lack of fine resolution.
