Hey there,

When i did The Beginning i found your track on the tracker and loved it, and wanted to use it for work in a track. It happens often- for example - producers hear tracks and think they would be great remixed into another style of music, and it worked. The track was amazing and lots of peopole have enjoyed listening to it.

I havent done this to intentionally rip you off, it was because i wanted to share it with other people in the hardcore scene. I didnt personally upload the track onto youtube, that was done by my promotional manager.

I tried to contact Titan using the email address that was supplied with the track on the tracker but i didnt get a response and that was back in September 2008.

Ive taken the youtube video down for you now. i had no idea youd get so pissed about it.

On a seperate note, i've been requested last week for the track to join my other 3 tracks to be released on a 4 track EP. I have no problems as crediting you as writer with this, so that way you would recieve payment of the sales of the track. If not then let me know.

And making money with other peoples music is not legal i know, but there has been no money made so theoretically its not an issue.

Thanks

Kristian

Seems like he understood his mistake. Good point for him.

i am totally with doom on this one.. that bassline is far too trivial to be claimed as original work..

you mean on the previous one. :P
also that original tune was so crappy the author should be honored that someone wanted to rip him off...

No idea if this is kosher or not since my legalese is a bit rusty but just noticed that this finnish gaming magazine used framerangers intro part as their latest podcasts intro, anyway, here's the url:

http://pelaajalehti.com/2009/08/12/pelaajacast-25-peligrafiikka-asiaa/

There's a streaming and a downloadable version available on the site, couldn't find any words on them having a permission for that or giving credits or anything, i did skip thru it (jesus, it's almost 2 hours of blablabla).

Oh no, Thomas Puha, my hero, what didcha doo? Seriously though, I don't think I can be arsed to listen to it either for credits.. But somehow - to me - it seems like a deal between Pelaaja and Ercola, or just pals(?) Thomas and Veikka, would be more likely than theft.

Yeah, i kinda suspect that they prolly know each other and stuff and it's all worked out. Gaming industry and demoscene is just too closely intertwined
here in Finland.

Decided to post it anyway because i was browsing thru this thread a while back and then for some totally random reason i listened to that podcast... weird shit...

IMO chris huelsbeck should be credited too, if it really will get released on an EP =)

"Wermut has sampled Mindflow’s song for the C64-demo Timewaster. Listen to the original at youtube, and an excerpt of Wermut’s song Away here."

nothing too big :) but perhaps of interest.

Seems like the Titan Turrican is LOVED in the stealing industry.
Another plain rip off.
Thank you to Sony and Atari this time.

Maybe I should point out that The Titan Turrican is approved by Chris , he owns the rights to it, and he has no problems with it. The name clearly shows it is a Turrican tune.

Although Atari keeps suprising me with their releases, there was only like a month ago news came out that graphic artist Dan Schoening was left out of Ghostbusters: The videogame final credits. Thats really bad.

And dubmood is a gangsta wannabe :P Chiphop chiphop lmao.

@svenzzon, thanks for clarifying that. But was it used on permission in the game?

Let's throw in Atari's recent illegal use of ScummVM here as well:

raina: Naw they had no permission using the tune in the game. From me or Chris.

So, big business stealing your tracks isn't big enough of a deal to avoid petty bickering?

Oh yeah, I have Ghostbusters on PS3. Its great. Fighting with Mr. Stay Puft was great fun, for example.

Shame about the tune rip-off.
