The Third & The Seventh

This stuff is so good, I wanna hide in some cave! When I read, ILM+Weta+FrameStore+Buff+... did the FX for Avatar, I somehow can imagine how they made it. But seing this result by a single mind, this gives me a glimpse of the future.
I don't give a damn, wether he used tools or meshes or whatever. It's an example that we live in a time that enables everybody to express his vision. Given you have one.

Truly amazing.

Never a statue to the glory of critics has been erected before. So those with your silly comments, just enjoy what you'll never be able to do because of your damn frustration for lack of your positivism.
Now think. What kind of comments and CdC and demo awards and usual hysterical idolatry would it deserve if it was a demoscene "product" shown at ... let me think... Breakpoint?
I bet it would become instantly legend or something.

Also resuming creation to technical facts is just a full joke and it's where this beautiful video succeeds: you don't think to technical aspects. You're just being moved by what you're seeing which looks unusual. (oh, we're on Pouet, so it's just my stupid own opinion)...

ANYWAY, brilliant work that made my day. This guy is so skilled. Many thanks for posting.

Technically perfect, impressive, good photography and whatever.
But can't find any meaning to all that, sorry.

@pan: Could you generally find any meaning to a demo?

i think especially the final montage of the forest and the library gave it a very distinct obvious meaning.

I'm immediately thinking.. Skills == technical aspect :)

@doh: Generally speaking, no. You could use "photography", "[short] movie" or "painting" as object of the same question, and the answer would be the same. Specifically, I can't find any meaning to THIS short movie, but I can find some meaning to SOME demos (photographies, movies, paintings...).

To be complete (and to reply to oxb first comment), I wrote similar comments for some of the so-called best demos (or privately told to some of the authors) and the reason is not frustration but to let them know that, in my opinion, they concentrated too much on the technical aspects, and completely forgot to give a meaning to their work. And this is still *my* stupid own opinion: to my eyes, nobody wrote a bad comment in this thread except me so I'd rather say that the average Pouet opinion is just "WOW" and "AMAZING" - and I accept all this, but I don't change my mind.

pan: i had the same reflex as yours when i watched it for the first time : so much work and talent... for 'nothing' ?

then the images are so appealing and bewitching that they turn to be self-sufficient, and the overall concept seems to be the beauty of architecture :)

haha, tu me cherches ! ;)
Skill in english is a common definition that applies to competence/ability and talent. I was obviously thinking to talent and of course he has some strong technical abilities.

It was more a response to the folks in here who said that "everybody with some CG ability can do that with the proper tools, blah blah..."...

This is a common statement we also know in music like "oh if I have that killer synthesizer or preamp. or whatever, I would be able to do some good music at least".

Anyway, nevermind. That's a really beautiful video. I watched it 5 or 6 times already today. Crazy !

Yeah, photography is beautiful, I'd have liked to watch it again if the music wasn't so... Well, it sounds like me playing random chords on a Roland synth...

Excellent piece of work!
The travertine walls of the barcelona pavillon are extremely convincing, <nitpicking>although judging from the veins of the stone some plates seem to be at the wrong place.</nitpicking>
As much as i like this: i am bored to death by photorealism
