Sure that the Breakpoint has been a pillar of the scene for many years. There's hardly other parties of its kind...

the only truth is that scamp is out of cash :D

because lack of cash prevents us from doing bp, like it did last year? oh wait.

It surely is sad that this will be the last breakpoint. But cooooomeoooon! The demoscene isn't all depended on the breakpoint, even if it is the biggest party of them all! I just can't take all the whining like "declare the scene as dead in the ending ceremony" anymore!". Bullshit! :D

I'm looking forward to another great Breakpoint and I'm thankfull for all the hard work, good memories and support that all the guys organizing the Breakpoint gave to the demoscene!

First: Let's party hard!
Then: We'll move on and continue what we all like the most (except some Pouet trolls): Having fun creating demos! ;)

The demoscene isn't depended on _any_ events, but social gatherings, seminars and competitions are of course very, very good ways to meet other demo enthusiasts. The truth still is that the importance of parties is no longer the same as it was in the 90s. The Internet enabled virtual cliques ages ago!

im really sad to see it go! we've been spoilt by breakpoint over the years. how else can you see most of your international scene friends in one place in one weekend in one so well organised event?

Mac: Seems TG has improved alot the last years. However, it is still an alcahole free party. So I doubt it will be a place for HARDCORE PANTS OFF danes.
Perhaps if they make a seperate PANTS OFF section Inside the Demoscene section ;)

I am also curious about this: Does it make sense to keep The Gathering as it is if it has an intention of replacing Breakpoint? If Duckers et al. are really into a gaming party then they can spin it off like Assembly did (Winter / Summer) and let The Gathering: Easter Edition to be what Breakpoint is right now?

Just a thought :).

Although, I am unsure if it'd gather as much sceners as Breakpoint does, since Norway is certainly not as cheap and accessible as Germany.

During summer we have Solskogen. Please don't change that :-)

tFt - No problems, we have learned to disquise our booze as ordinary energy drink, no one has figured out the secret of our non-alcohol magic man yet ;) .. although i also do believe TG can replace BP, simply because alcohol isn't allowed.

.. And every section of a partyhall is a PANTS OFF section, don't you forget.

We will organize alkoTG nearby in co-op with the Demoteam at TG. Meaning we get access to the compo entries as soon as they are shown at TG. And we show them (again) at alkoTG

So if you are too drunk to fool your way pass the guards at TG, you can come to alkoTG and watch the compos with drunks.

hehe....ok, not really. But it could work.
Just renting a Pub and putting up a live stream feed could even work.
(would have to be a really good stream though, exclusive to alkoTG only, no buffering :)
