Didn't think the film was that great, but after watching it, thought I'd have a nosey at the OST, glad I did tbh!
+1 for that 8bit.
I'm quite enjoying this atm.

Some great albums I've been listening (for the most part) in the last month or so. All of these albums are highly recommended.

BB Image
Bitstream - Domestic Economy 7 (2005), great modern IDM album, kinda what I hoped Autechre would've done after LP5. Kinda reminds me of Brothomstates too.

BB Image
1-Speed Bike - Droopy Butt Begone (2000), really REALLY weird album by the Godspeed You! Black Emperor drummer Aidan Girt. The whole album basically consists of weird atmospheric samples and loops, and interesting self-recorded drumloops.

BB Image
Can - Ege Bamyasi (1972), absolutely amazing Krautrock album. I really love especially Damo Suzuki's vocals and the way this was recorded.

BB Image
Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup (1996), experimental rock and proto-postrock. The production here is extremely similar to that Can album, and overall has the same vibe to it, only a bit more poppy maybe.

BB Image
Ulrich Schnauss - Far Away Trains Passing By (2001), downtempo/ambient with some IDM elements and berlin-school synth work. Reminiscent of Boards Of Canada.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CeIo4PrZhg

BB Image
Swans - Filth (1983), the Swans' first album really kicked my ass to the orbit. Absolutely brutal sinister dark brooding industrial/punk. Michael Gira's vocals here are insanely agonizing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFR_eBXK3p0

BB Image
Gridlock - Formless (2003), again a great IDM/ambient album reminiscent of mid - late 90s Autechre.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX73-xSNZpY

BB Image
Augustus Pablo - King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown (1976), in my opinion pretty much the greatest reggae/dub album ever recorded, magnificent production, those delay effects rock!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA48dU4dpIQ

BB Image
Sami Kukka - Menen Veteen (2009), hauntingly beautiful finnish folk music. Reminds me a lot of Nick Drake's Pink Moon, but this is even better.
[no youtube]

BB Image
Neu! - S/T (1972), after Kraftwerk released their first album, member Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother left the band to found Neu!, and they made one of the best Krautrock albums ever made. Anyone who doesn't understand minimalism should give this a listen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAXYMOgHQI4

BB Image
Four Tet - Pause (2001), often dubbed as "folktronica" (stupid term I know). Just simply a great ambient/downtempo album with some acoustic guitars, again reminds me a bit of TCH era Boards Of Canada.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6yF_UV1n1o

BB Image
Madlib - Shades Of Blue (2005), I really can't samy anything but praise for this work. Hiphop album with near-perfect production.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M1UJmfQ-Kk

BB Image
Charles Mingus - The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady (1963), pretty much the best jazz album I've heard, and one of the very few that left me with awestruck.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17KTUqLyNcU

BB Image
Arovane - Tides (2000), classic ambient downtempo album with some IDM elements.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LnzQPAOEkU

And lastly two of my favorite ambient albums (have been listening to these for ages), both are some of the most emotionally affecting music I have ever heard:

BB Image
Stars Of The Lid - The Tired Sounds Of Stars Of The Lid (2001)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkKYTvSPzNs

Celer - Capri (2009)

Lee scratch perry is awesome. (And isn't he still going too?) For evidence, check the letter he wrote to the japanese minister of justice after paul mccartney got arrested there for possessing .25kg of weed: http://adambhalalough.com/post/1576486820/paul-mccartney-got-busted-for-ganja-in-japan-in

Sunn O))) & Boris - Altar
One of the best albums ever made.

@Frost: Yeah, I was posting their stoner rock albums. You're right, that's a masterpiece. When I heard Altar, I wanted to hear more from that "Boris". After listening a few more, I got their whole discography in my playlist.

the solaris OST was indeed a really great release.
Something different:

Mumford & Songs - Sigh no more (best Country-Folk-Rock band I've heard since The Men They Couldn't Hang and Oyster Band).

Bobic: Indeed, Mumford & Sons are great.

Just fetched the 2010 album "Palomino" by Trampled by Turtles from my mailbox. Might need some more listens, but "Wait So Long" is one awesome song. Wikipedia categorizes the album as "progressive bluegrass".
