Demosceners at German Pirates Party conference?

category: offtopic [glöplog]
Hi *,

i am watching the german pirates party conference livestream. it pretty much looks like a demoscene party. Sometimes I even thought that I spotted some known faces from the scene.

i wonder if demosceners are likely to be a typical pirates party voter....

It's hard to decide which one would be the last on my list: Our local populist right-wing party or the pirates. I'd pick even communists or the agrarian party before both.

you cant say that demosceneres are the typical voters or focus group. either the party would starve, because sceners dont make for enough votes, or you think the scene is much bigger and homogen than you think. no homo

I'm there... if anyone else is at the bpt11.2 drop me a mail @torusle on twitter.

Other than that: It may look like a scene party from the photos and from the live-stream, but it's a completely different thing.

If it meant more eye patches, peg legs and politicians that started every sentence with a "Gharrrr" you couldnt keep me away from it with a pointy stick. Also, there is enough real pirates in politics all ready. None of them very amusing.

politics in scene forums, always a bad idea.

I am not there but I applaud to what the pirates have decided at this bpt. I think I know where my vote goes in 2013

Yup, I'm all in for PPNL (Pirate Party NetherLands). Good people and they are needed in times like this.

I once saw a thing about these peeps on TV and it was amazing how absolutely awkward these people were. Super unfit for doing anything in politics.

Also, single issue parties always suck.

okkie: Flamewar aside - that's mostly the fault of the media. At the conference TV teams were deliberately picking the one guy wearing a silly hat all the time, or asking the CEO of the party about her shoes. "Single issue" also isn't true anymore at least for Germany's PP.

So they moved beyond being the "let's-legalize-kiddie-pr0n-for-our-buddy-Jörg"-party? Impressive!
