Pouet features

category: general [glöplog]
but use a new parameter name like newpage= to maintain backwards compatibility with page=

gargaj, would allowing the possibility to credit more than 3 groups for one said group be doable?

alk: What would be the point to be backwards-compatible, when it didn't make sense to link to a specific page before anyway (because the page number would change every few moons at the latest)?
and i obviously meant "for one said prod".

If you choose the demoblog view from the user page and select only thump ups or downs, it won't recalculate the amount of pages needed and eventually will go past the end.

My life is in ruins.

Not sure how it'd be best implemented, but quite often I find it frustrating that clicking on a thread in the BBS page goes to the last page, e.g. when I wanted to start learning about SDF/raymarching, I went through the thread list and wanted to start at page 1 on each.

On the other hand, if it's a thread you already read then going to the end makes sense. Perhaps it should record the "last item read on each thread" like some other BBS systems do?

this feature has probably been requested in the past, but it would be good to post it here as well... in the page of a prod there should be a list with the names (handles) of the people, along with group they belong, who made the prod or contributed to it (code, music, gfx, etc.) linking possibly to accounts they have here, much like csdb does in the credits section. it would be good to know from whom a contribution was made (or who is to blame for the shitty music or graphics) :P

The feature you have in mind is called [url=http://demozoo.org/Demozoo[/url]!

also an "actual party" box might be useful.

+1!

"This is an *actual* party. It has, like, cake and party hats and stuff"

Now that demozoo has opened to the public (for many months, if I'm correct) - and I really don't see that site ruined by "lamers" that put wrong/spam links on the prods - I think the time has come for pouet to have such a feature too (read the first post in this thread).

Correct me if you still think I'm wrong.

could you attach the watchlist to the user page also?
so that there is a possibility to see all prods that have been added to the user's watchlist.

friol: thx for finding the right thread! <3

also which is the official pouet feature request thread? i see a lot of people (including me) posting requests to different threads making monitoring and tracking of such requests a difficult job.

f*cking yeah, someone finally did this!!!

4 years after my post, but better late than never!

So, now pouet is full of spam, right? :)

Uhm, 4 years ago it was your suggestion to give users the right to add links etc.
That hasn't happened at all, only change is that the request system was automated.
Every single change still has to be confirmed manually by a gloperator.
So your gloating is perhaps a bit unwarranted.

@havoc: oh, you are right.

BTW, on demozoo users can add links without admin confirmation, so demozoo i full of spam, right?

Not yet. But if you think the changes are not being monitored you're kidding yourself. :)

friol, let's be honest- neither of us got what we envisioned 4 years ago. but we both got something that works heaps better than it ever did before. so for me, the score is settled. whether you want to continue being bitter is up to you, really.

...plus, it's open source.
friol: i invented gloperators!!!!! ADORE ME! [well, semi-true, i came up with the word back then :P]
