I assume registration will have it's own option again in the GTC reg page? And when will it appear?

We are now eager to know the compo details.
Last year the screens and the audience room were quite huge.

micksam7: yeah, it'll be a special ticket again. However, this year we'll allow people to register directly from the Scene.org site, which will include a discount and at the same time register you to attend, vote and submit entries. TECHNOLOGY!

archee: compo details will follow in a week or two.

magic: no, it's just too obvious to slam you down for being so insanely predictable.

how would you classify an entry on a shield that played on an oscilloscope?
as unnecessary, that's how

only relevant if the oscilloscope is manufactured by nvidia! ;)

good luck with that.
I said I would do something with the free Shield. So thanks to Luis, who made the tool, I can.

I guess I'll save it for the Level Whosis guys, if I manage to make a PC demo for NVScene in time, if I decide to go. (Yes, I can make those now. and I already made one; I don't care about winning, I care about making them)

(When the boat anchor I mean tube oscilloscope on a cart that someone happily offloaded to you to get it out of their life which is covered in basement crud that you can't fully scrub off lives in your dining room for six months, blows a fuse when you finally plug it in, and finally a clever scener has to resuscitate it with a butane-powered soldering iron to get a slightly funky trace . . . any hipster sheen is gone. I'll never be able to get rid of this white elephant, so I might as well use it. Or rather Babe. Babe the Big Blue Ox. Probably till death do us part, or I can convince myself to part with it to another poor sap. Don't make my mistake.)

That's the right motivation to get you nowhere!

For folks considering going to NVScene, the party itself had interesting talks and some good entries, and the exhibit hall at GTC was interesting too; was hoping to catch some non-NVScene talks but that didn't happen. Also they gave us a backpack and a Shield.

It would be good if some more women would show up. I counted 11 other than folks working at the dinner stands. There were a lot of people there.

A group of us went to visit The Computer History Museum, which kicked ass!! Almost worth the trip on its own.

I also got to see the

Also REAL MEXICAN FOOD. NOT COVERED IN CHEESE. SRSLY.

And it is worth walking around SF, I did for hours. Rather pleasant to look upon, especially if you go up the hill to the Castro, where you can look down at beautiful views. I found an awesome park next to the weirdest high school in the world.

Also, food. I made myself sick eating things I can't actually digest and I didn't care, that tells you how good it was

. Not that I'll do that again, I'll be careful next time. ( :
I also missed the Archive visit, still sad about that >:(

What metoikos said. Lots to see and do in the region. FWIW, I briefly wrote about my visit to the Internet Archive during NVScene '14 in this Hugi article, but there are also some video tours online, like this.
