How do I enter?
Visit this site to enter. There is no registration required to view the site. Read the FAQ for details.

Why?
Because. Ping me by e-mail, IRC, Facebook, or Twitter if you care to know the longer explanation.

Will there be another giveaway in 2017?
Not if I can help it.
It took me a while to realize that no actual drawings are involved in the giveaway :)

Sorry, 2nd definition of "drawing" as in to make a selection at random, not "Draw me like one of your French hardware."
Does this qualify?

Not very alluring. ;)
Signed up cause they look cute!

These look cool... Just started playing with an Arduino nano and it feels like when I first started programming in BASIC...

Just a reminder this is still going on until the end of the month.

There's already some great creations going on, mostly game focused, but I think you guys might pull out a bit more. :)
I've posted the results of the giveaway: https://kennewick.asmcbain.net/giveaway Click the appropriate links under each section to see the results. I know the site says the drawing ends at the end of July 30th but I messed up and processed the results 22h early. I don't believe this'll be an issue, however, since it has been running for at least a month and the number of entries plateaued. I will begin e-mailing people this weekend, no later than sometime Sunday PDT. The response countdown is based on when I get the e-mail out so don't worry about that.
I could have ignored the results, rolled back the site, and let it go for the remaining hours but as the drawings are publicly accessible and also thus possibly indexable by search engines I'd rather not be able to have anyone accuse me of reruning the drawing because I disliked the results.* (Alternatively I could have also waited it out and seen if anyone joined, and use the same results if nobody did.)

* It's not an entirely invalid criticism had I done so. I mean who hasn't decided to watch a random episode of their favorite TV show or whatever again and gone "*roll* Hmm. Not that one. [arbitrary reason for disqualification] I'll try again. *roll*." At any rate, I do assure everyone I only did two drawings with random.org: the production one and the dev kit one. You won't find any other ones because there aren't any. :)
I got way more entries than I figured, but that's probably due to posting it on Twitter and getting a retweet by the #demoscene bot, then later the creator (whoops). I wish I had more to give away, but alas I'm not made of money. Just skin, fat, and brain cells.
Cool, looking forward to making stuff with it :) - is there a way to emulate the color version, seeing that I'm only getting the 1-bit one? I'd like to support both :D

I explicitly didn't enter because I'd rather it goes to someone who will do something with it, and I don' think I'd find the time.

@visy, they both are only "1bit" for the screen. There is no color version yet as far as I know. :)
Dammnit! Totally failed to notice this in time. Will have to buy one, having become enamoured with Polynomial's at Revision and seeing what he did with it at Sundown.

Oh. Sorry Fell. :( I wish I had more to give away, but I the remainder was always planned to be used teaching some classes at the local makerspace. I have heard via the Arduboy forums that they finished shipping the Kickstarter ones earlier this summer and so hopefully soonish should start on the store orders, if they haven't already. :)
I should have given a one week warning, but I forgot. I think I did do a one month or 15 day warning or something.
Don't be sorry!! You did an awesome :)

Just running some quick checking via demozoo (and Pouet via Google)*, for the Dev Kit drawing there were at least 4 identifiable sceners in the initial group of winners. The production giveaway seemed to have 7-8 sceners, by the same definition. I'd say that's pretty good given the exposure on Twitter, which cast a wider net.

* Basically if an account or entry with their listed public identifier or other info existed. Nothing fancy.

In other news, I've also finally sent out e-mails to the initial group of winners. I'll be watching for the responses and on the lookout for mailer daemon replies / bounces. I promise you won't lose out under the 15-day response window due to that, but if I can't find a second way to contact you I might have to move on. Therefore if you know you've won and haven't heard from me in 5 to 10 days from now, check your spam folders or contact me directly via https://lasering.design using the same e-mail address you used to enter the drawing. The subject for the e-mail will mention from://kennewick and Arduboy.
"The first eight for each drawing will be contacted. If someone does not respond within the given time frame, the next person in the list not already selected will be contacted."

I am #9 :)

Such is the nature of randomness. :) I've already got two responses, but I figure not everyone will be so quick especially if they're from the US since it's the middle of the night.
I'm #32 in production, did not see any mail, I'll mail you
Hi,

Sorry for the confusion. To clarify here what is also written on the website, I only have 8 production and 8 dev kit Arduboys. The emails were sent to the top 8 and I am waiting to hear back from all of them.

The ranked list of all the entrants (and hence your number of 32) was so if anyone did not contact me back in the time window or declined I would have a fair list to know who to contact next.

So unfortunately for you there is a long number of people above you who would have a first shot. I wish I had 32 of these things to give away, that'd be awesome, but I don't. :(
