Maybe I'm reading too much into the word, but I was initially wondering how the word was pronounced, but now I'm wondering if it means anything (I figured the trumpets on the background were a clue)? The word sounds French to me.

Oh, come on! You just found out it's a french word, so why don't you look it up in a french dictionary? Spoiler alert: It's /pwɛt/ in the International Phonetic Alphabet.
