The longer I think about it, I want to have this "sleeping inside the hall" audio channel. But it MUST be a livestream and only send out during demoparties.

For the real party experience everyone who want to go to the toilet has to go outside and walk for 50m first and then return to simulate the toilet-tunnel.

For the real party experience everyone needs a 12-hour loop of Party Leben with a low-pass filter on it

I would have no problem with Revision not doing any competitions this year. The other (smaller) demo parties later this year can profit from that then and show the productions in their competitions, making them more attractive.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 it's sad but there is nothing in this life that can destroy the demoscene ❤

Noby has an impulse response recording of the hall so you can really simulate that perfectly.

...assuming that they are not being cancelled, too.
I'm a fan of supporting smaller parties as much as anyone, but there's a reason why Revision tends to get the 'blockbuster' releases: it's more fun to take part in a compo with a large audience and a good chance of strong competition. Not being able to do that in person might make the smaller parties a more attractive option, but that's something people can decide for themselves - I don't see what we gain by forcing that choice.

One way this could be turned into a boost for the smaller parties is if the sub-scenes got together amongst themselves and decided that, say, X gets the C64 entries, Function gets the tiny intros and so on. But that happens to some extent already, and can still happen regardless of whether Revision's compos take place.

Considering more and more countries are shutting down most activities involving gathering a larger group of people there should be ample time to sit home and make stuff for a lot of compos this year.

realize that by not leaving your house to travel somewhere you are doing a public good

Easterparties are pretty close to being the only occasion for me to leave the house!

don't worry, we can still arrange enough shadow parties to watch the stream together AND still spread the corona virus properly!

Just to make sure: the online ticket will be for partymeister access to vote and upload releases but the stream will be free for everyone as before?

You won’t have to buy a ticket to watch the stream. But if you want to vote and participate in the competitions you will need to purchase an “online ticket”. T-shirts also will be available and will be shipped to you after the party.

The scene should stand tall and back to back with Revision Online!
Keep on working on your productions! Buy the desired tickets!
No corona will get the demoscene down!

All this talk about holding off releases and waiting for a physical party to release them!!!

C'mon people, Revision needs your support!! Get those releases ready for Easter and let's try to make this the ultimate online party experience!!!!

It's not like other parties don't need the support and it's also nice to see your entry on the big screen. That said, I dusted off Visual Studio after a long absence...
