"Evening drinks with D.Fox, Dojoe and friends"

rewatch here
Corrections/Additions on my part:
- rotozoomer battle 2002 was between Gargaj and Ryg (not Iq, and "Conspiracy" did not exist at that time)
- Superogue and Ionic are "new kids" in the 256b scene, not in general ;)
- Sizecoding Wiki really helps you getting into the 256b scene, go check it out!
- it is NOT as hard as you think (example)
- i (we) will do more write ups on the wiki to unveil stuff more thoroughly
   (if people people are all too much like "omgwtf!" then we failed explaining it)
- Big thanks to DFox, Dojoe, Las, Frankie and everybody else @Team Revision!

Btw this is a latecomer thought but if exegfx is "4k Executable Graphics", then why is exemusic not "32k Executable Music"? For years every time the compo comes up on Twitch people keep asking what the size is, 'cos it's not in the name.
added on the 2020-05-04 11:00:44 by Gargaj Gargaj
I agree with Gargaj on this one. "Exectuable Music" should simply be renamed to "32k Executable Music". This is an unnecessary naming inconsistency and really easy to fix. To the best of my knowledge - all other size-coding related compos follow a pretty easy and clear naming convention.

And 1GB demo compo? Would music compo be 100MB music compo?
Not an invalid point, but then why is "4k exe" have that distinction?
added on the 2020-05-04 13:15:49 by Gargaj Gargaj
That's why I indirectly differentiated between size-coding related and non size-coding related. Works for me.

Age-old feeblemindedness!

When f.e.:
- harddisk-demos came up on Amiga
- new Amigas arrived with 2MB instead of 0.5MB Chip-Ram (music -> module-size)
- tracking-compos included 4-channel and more-than-4-chans-aswell
- 40k changed to 64k on Amiga (now, this one should trigger!)
- demos changed from 4mb to 16mb to 256mb to unlimited

4realz: Its all just about ppl understanding what they are witnessing (right now), so naming compos accordingly shouldn´t be discussed, just done right! :P

I for myself are sick of having to ask stuff, if a compo-slide wasn´t providing enuff info...
...renaming categories is the absolutel correct way to go!
(slide-infos are provided by the makers btw, so dont blame the compo-team!)
yep:

demo-compos should have been:

<=16mb demo compo
<=256mb demo compo
unlimited size demo compo

but then again:
the time and platforms limited it itself and so it wasnt really necessary to put it into the compo-category-name...on pc it was always stated in the competition-rulez atleast! So if you watched a compo, you most likely knew about the current rulez anyway!
(this does show, though, that in hindsight, when we watch a demo on youtube nowadays, we absolutely dont know anything about size-limits!)
(STOP YOUTUBING! Watch realtime, read NFOs!)

As someone who sometimes runs multi-platform compos and tries hard to get these details right, and other times is the one frantically copying details from the info slide onto Demozoo: yes, please do blame the compo team. (At least partially.)

Same here, but I think for me it might be because the post here in Belgium has quite a delay since they have a surge of parcels due to the lockdown situation, so I was going to wait a bit longer before mentioning it.
Although I do have already received the shirt I ordered from Topy44's shop during Revision, which also came from Germany.

The t-shirts have been printed and will be shipped in the next weeks. We’re really sorry for the delay. 2020 is a difficult year for all of us :/

No worries, thanks for the update! Everything else aside, it's probably quite a bit more work compared to the 40-50 packages of last years
