Breakpoint 2005 after-party thread (includes results ;)

category: general [glöplog]
What can I say - BP2005 was the greatest party I've ever been involved in. I love you all.

We've returned from cleaning up the party mess a few hours ago... the after-party section and official ftp will be started soon.

Official results are now available here:

I definitely liked Breakpoint 05 much more than BP04. But I think that BP03 is still my favourite for some odd reason.

The new Partyplace was an improvement imho, even with the "smaller" meadow. Still the food needs some improvement (I think some of the ppl from the food support didn't know what awaits them at all) but at least this time I was able to go into down and search for a local Döner-Shop. Which was quite a nice one. :D

Thx for the nice Party. I'll definitely join BP06 if there is one. :)

fluffy carpet, good location, warm hall, no delays and delicious food. great party!
special thanks to the orga team for helping us record the console demo!

the psychedelic passage installation ruled bigtime!
and the whole party was almost perfect. my only complaints are the lack of toilets, german "so-called" coffee, and the lack of food/beer selection at ALDI :)

my only problem was the number of toilets, that needs to be fixed somehow (rental once again? :( )

where's the thumb up button?!? :)

by far the best party i visited so far. see ya next year!
ah and the mindbending machine ruled. especially its remote clients cleverly disguised as earplugs ;D

My only complaints are the showers. Felt like I was at some military camp. Worst showers I've ever seen.

Everything else pretty much ruled (well ok, weather could've been better. Order some more sunshine next year please ;). Best party ever. Good job people :)

Most of the releases are available now (rest will be added tomorrow) at the website.

And yes, we'll try to get recordings of the seminars and other events online as soon as possible.

blabla/gargaj: But you did notice there where two more rooms with toilets below the grandstand, yes? ;)

blabla: ALDI is a discount supermarket, not a complete one, that's their concept ;) Next time visit the Minimal, which was connected by the shuttle bus and even provided english speaking desks for sceners...

elend: Actually 4 food stands were planned. The 4th one was supposed to be "Tom's Backstubb" and provide us with tons of pizza/baguette like stuff, as in 2004. The fucker screwed us over and did not show without informing us with some very shitty reasons. The other foodstand had to take over the work in no-time, and IMHO they managed that really perfectly. Details might be part of some party-report ;)

scamp: i only discovered those 2 extra toilets on the last days myself, maybe the "features" of the partyhall were abit missinformed, maybe have a map next year? both of inside partyhall and outside surroundings.

bp owned!

All parties rule. And of course everyone knows I loved bp03 and 04.

The bigscreen was so freaking great. The hall was so much improved. Everything was so fantastic.

And I got to perform on stage and be able to talk about it to people without being embarrassed. Which was more fun than I have had in a LONG time. And I've had a LOT of fun the past 2 years going to parties.

Thanks to everyone involved, from the Organizers (megawootage to Scamp for getting this worked out with the city) to the City of Bingen and especially to the other sceners who were there for making it just so extremely kick ass.

Oh and scene.org awards and I need to write a party report before I forget stuff (:
For what it counts: BEST PARTY I ever attended.
Renting a couple more toilets will make it so sweet.

Not the best party ever. That would be MS2k-1 or something. But great, and a big improvement compared to BP04, which was also great. I don't know about the carpet.. it didn't seem incredibly fluffy to me (?).

So, what's the plan for the compos next year? Is all that to-be-decided, or can we count on e.g. the executable music compos to continue?

mad props for the massive and high-quality big screen, well balanced sound system, groovy meadow (it was nice'n'cozy), better food, better location, better weather (rain sucked, tho), roomy partyhall and everything else. Extremely enjoyable.

i only have a few improvement suggestions:

* bigger 'entrance tent' would've been better (because of the rain and all)
* more toilets wouldn't have hurt.
* it would've been nice to have more variety in the non-alcoholic drinks at the infodesk.
* IT WAS TOO HOT INSIDE! (never thought to say that about breakpoint) ;-)

Haha. Yeah I second Uncle-X. It was quite hot in the main Hall. But well, better than freezing cold, I'd say. And the bigger entrante Tent is a really nice Idea. It was way too small for such a big party. :D

Too bad to hear about Tom's Backstubb to cancel the party. They seemed to be nice people on BP03.

The bigscreen ruled big time!

the screen ruled big time and everything else was quite professional compared with last year.
thx for such a great party and keep it as it is and we will be happy
