This thread perfectly illustrates the idea and perception of the scene I've had since I started paying attention to it. And it's not far from the way the rest of the world and society seems to function.

Ideally it shouldn't be that way, and for years I've always felt like I was sitting on the edge looking in, never fitting into the norm or what's popular. I've always noted the ignorance and elitism floating around, but never knew how to put it into words or make a cohesive arguement about it, so I always just lashed out.

This thread has put it all into perspective, and I am very grateful to have learned there are a few people that have a clue. A clue about how things should be viewed, and aren't about to pander to the masses and keep their artistic integrity intact. Even if that expression is to simply be rebelious and intentionally be against the grain or not the 'norm'. If the ability to pull that off isn't talent, I don't know what is.

Not that it will change anything, but it makes me feel better that there is at least someone that sees this scene for what it really is, and has tried to put it into perspective, thank you.

Troll: you SO need to be at BP06.
I kind of disagree, I think talent is something that shines through everything someone does, whether that be something pleasant or not, and avantgarde can just as easily be inability as it can be talent.
