@party 2020 - 12th to 14th June - Boston MA, USA

category: parties [glöplog]

This party goes to Eleven!
Click here to register for the party!

This is the 11th annual @party, the longest running demoparty in the Americas.
We’re returning to Artisan’s Asylum in Somerville, MA USA. There will be three full days of scheduled programming from Friday June 12th through Sunday June 14th.

The room will have a permanently installed sound system and bigscreen comparable in size to the party system of the past seven years and you’re welcome to consume meals and refreshments at your computer place. You can’t sleep here though, so please make arrangements for a hotel or roomshare if you don’t intend to stay awake for three days straight.

Due to the volume of entries last year we have expanded the compo team and will be moving the concert to Friday night. The rough schedule has already been posted on the schedule page. Stay tuned for further announcements on performers, seminars, and additional program items!

Thank you, and we hope to see you at @party 2020!

11 years is not a bad run. You shouldn't miss it.
Artisans' Asylum is worth a visit on its own.

If you go there, you can probably see this

@party 2020 goes… Virtual?!?

To support further necessary social distancing measures, we regret to inform you that we will be unable to host @party 2020 in person. But do not despair, all is not lost! We already accept remote entries and host a live stream. So now all entries will be remote entries, and attendees will watch the live stream! The Revision Online demoparty shows that this can work, so rather than cancel or postpone the party, we will be going 100% virtual. Stay tuned during the coming weeks for information on updated schedules, deadlines, stream URLs, and chat servers!

If you have already registered for the party, we are happy to refund your tickets. Just contact us via the usual channels so we can process your request. However, a secondary option would be to convert your registration fee into a donation to Artisan’s Asylum, our parent organization. For those who are curious, Artisan’s Asylum is currently closed to the public and volunteer members are making PPE for local hospitals.

In any event, we hope to “see” you at the party!

Thank you for your understanding,

I have to ask an important question - how can we get Aeronaut beer if we're not local?

Anyway, still got an entry to work on.

Less than a month to go!

Get working on your prods, there’s less than a month to go until the party!

Additionally due to popular demand, we have already broken out a dedicated 265 byte compo from the main intro compo, and added a Paintover graphics compo.

We hope you’re as excited as we are, and hopefully we'll "see" you there!

^ Obviously that should have read "256 byte compo"...

does your paintover compo accept entries based on neural style transfer?

You may know... at the same time qbparty canceled
Ahh, that's unfortunate. We couldn't really postpone as that would probably mean bumping into Demosplash, and we've got enough locals that are most familiar with our party, so we decided to go virtual. I hope you're staying well in Hungary, and "come on by" @party if you're able ;)

psenough... hrm... that's an interesting idea and involves computation, which is a very demoscene thing to do. Let me talk to the rest of the compocrew and we'll update the rules one way or another.
