you need the divx codec (www.divx.com :)

btw, variance looks like the standard ISO-14721 Haujobb Demo(tm)(C)(R). (just the PC engine ported to dreamcast)

it's kinda weird, 'cause all the DivX-ed demos I've watched before worked okay, and I even encoded some stuff myself.. maybe it's some specific version? I'll try it anyway..

as for 'standard hjb demo', I just happen to be a real sucker for those.. beats me why 8))

do like me, burn it on cd and watch it on a dreamcast :))
(btw, it's really nice to watch a nice demo on your videogame system)

humm, if they encoded divx with bad specs, they use the f*cking format m$ WMA (the good specs for the sound is mp3)
so the video can be in divx (look for last version at projectmayo) and you must use MediaPlayer 7 or 8 to hear the sound if it's in wma
perhaps, they used the modified divx codec, exg:AngelProject
see www.gdivx.com for the divx player (save 40% of cpu than mediaplayer) and try the others codecs wich are in download part.
no other tips
www.divx-digest.com, might help you out, or it might not, worth a shot tho.

humm, two possibilities :
- the file is bad encoded
- you have not downloaded the whole file

if your file is cut at the end, sometimes you can load it normally but you cant run it :(
(some times, you can see the first seconds or the first minutes and it's stop)

is anybody downloaded it and run it here ?
i will download it this night, and i will try it tomorow.
Zone: so, what's the result of your investigation? 8)

arg! it's dont play on my home computer, dont play on my work computer, i think the file is not full (corrupted), perhaps it miss 2kbytes or more and the format is not well as a divx must be.
I think the best solution is to ask the uploader of this file and ask him to say what is the right format.

But! i find a solution, i can see it now (with music too) :)
Right click on your .avi file, go to the last part of properties (in french its 'Apercu', in english it perhaps 'viewing')
wait for 30 secs, and click to the little play button
so, you can watch the prod, but never in full screen, only in this little user interface of windows.
better than nothing. i hope this will run on your computer Bhead :)
i can confirm this file is corrupted at the end :(
after new test, i see this file was encoded with a beta version of divx, you can run it with this solution :
download the playa
http://download.projectmayo.com/dnload/theplaya/ThePlaya-0.5.0-Installer.exe
download last divx codecs
http://download.projectmayo.com/dnload/divx4windows/DivX4Win40a50.zip
install the two things (codec fisrt (read the txt file), playa in second)
if playa ask for divx.ini in c:, than rename opendivx.ini in divx.ini
launch, it's runs for 1'40'' for me, ouf!
Zone: whoa, it works!! I thought that downloading ThePlaya might be a good idea, but somehow forgotten about it.. 8] silly me.. thanks for pointing that out. Case closed. 8))
