Breakpoint 2005 after-party thread (includes results ;)

category: general [glöplog]
Thumbs up for this new party location! An extra toilet wouldn't hurt if Scamp & crew are ready to organize another BP next year. I was a little surprised to see that there wasn't really any sleepingfacilities, but since the partyplace wasn't packed it was fairly easy to find a sleeping spot in the "crowd area", or whatever it is called. Maybe the "seminar area" should also be included as a "sleeping hall" next year - I'm not really sure that that was allowed this year, so forgive me if I'm wrong.

a big respect to the whole crew, especially to scamp for convincing the local authorities and managing this whole mega-event
it was simply great, the carpet ruled, it was cosy inside, the passages were great, people friendly, compos r0xx0red (most of them) and even the food support got slightly better
at least it seems that nobody got diarrhoea from the wurstbude. and the crepes was delicious
only improvement: do something about the coffee supply. the coffee machine was most of the time out of order, the 3 food suppliers were closed until 10-11am, so the only chance to get a reasonable coffee was at the info desk
oh, and: maybe a few fun compos outside wouldn't hurt
very good party yep!
I think I'll better do a report just before I forget everything :)
congrats to all the organization team!
i enjoyed this years bp definitely more than the one from 2004. the place was perfect, there was really no reason to worry about the fact that people wouldn't like the meadow and the fire in advance.

the channels that led to the hall were a cool gimmick too, thanks to whoever installed ronald mac hitler there along with those nice soundscapes.

the takeaways were nicely chosen too, despite the obligatory grumpiness of it's owners.

only downside: the smell. as i said before, please don't encourage the peeps to get rid of their shoes inside the hall next year. =)

i'd like to second everyone. shuttle bus, carpet, toilets (yes, i think there were enough toilets, don't care about those that can only pee when they're alone there ;-)), bigscreen, organizers (you guys rock), sound, grand stand, meadow, djs, BASS!!!! (i missed Ultrasound, anybody recorded that), competitions, stage, people, dK-bier, grillen mit voz, bestest scene.org awards, the gathering, shuttlebus, hotel, local bingen disco "palazzo" ;-) oh the only thing i didn't like were those benches in front of the bigscreen. i can still feel my back and neck being irreversible fucked up by them.. hmpf.
oh and sobec: nice report, but damn people write your reports for mags, not for pouet :)

Definately a great party again. And yes, even the volume of the sound was reasonable (or am I going older?). I missed some good backgroundtracks between the compos to hold the mood on top (as Apoptygma on MS2k etc.). I even wondered that no traditional shows went up like the Crest-Demoshow. Networking was better than last years (especially the inet) and going beside the ZakMcKracken dumbmachine was great... so what to say more? The place itself wasn't that dark anymore, warm and even covered with fluffy carpet. The idea with the seminars deserves a thumb up, I rather liked the idea not to bore everyone with it like ATI did last year... the sponsors even were able to be there without getting to offensive, I really appreciate the fact in not getting to commercial with it. The liveacts rocked, too. The Results of the compos were not that remindful in my oppion (that's of course not the fault of the breakpoint) but the only few things I remembered as mindblowing was the PokeMon-Hack. Even thou I missed Steeler as the red line through the compos... thanx to all organizers, you made my days.

'twas fun

BP05 ruled really big time! No complaints from me at all! A fantastic party with a friendly atmosphere, helpful orgas, nice visitors. The only thing which sucked big time was that I could stay for only two days as I had to work. Else it was kinda PERFECT!
Congrats to the organizers!! Very nice work!

one of the best parties ever, especially competition-wise. i guess it gave the belief into scene back to many people.

fuckings go out to the music preselection who seemingly wank on melodies and general popshit.

(although i must say that paniq's "elektronische musik" was the best mp3 compo winner for quite a long time. <3 that track!!!)
