dungeon_horror.dll is not part of windows dynamic link library collection, so I guess many party organizers will disqualify your production. However, you can make downloader in your 4k that gets the desired dll (as an organizer of "jumalauta high vision voltage party" I can say that we would allow it).

no, but you can use d3pouet_27.dll which includes everything you may want

I dont see anything wrong with using a .dll

I don't think anyone should be allowed to use any .dll for anything.

Yes, that includes you. Whatever you're doing there, stop it. It's disgusting.

May I quote the 4k rules of some certain demoscene events:

Maximum size is 4096 bytes for the executable. All other files in the archive will be deleted before showing the entry in the competition.

or how about that...

Maximum size is 4096 bytes unzipped. The production must be a single file (additional infofiles and readmes are ok, of course).

If you allow using dll files in 4k compos, some clever guys would re-compile standart dlls and add some code in them which is used by executable. Then they will start using other versions of "bass.dll", "dungeon_horror.dll" etc. I don't think that's a good idea.

I found another solution for this!!! If organizers allow to use some standart dll files, they can put them on the party's website and everybody downloads these (exact) versions. when the compo starts, organizers copies all 4kb executables in the a folder which includes the same dll files in the web site. So, if somebody has tried to use another version of the standart dll, it won't work at the compo.

what do you say?

p.s: I'm the organizer of the 7DX Demoscene Party. I might use this method next year.
