there've been jokegroups forever, 99% aren't at all funny, but it's nothing new. just let the kids play (at least they attend parties and pay the entrance fee, thats their best scene contribution - which is more than shane ever did), while the adults get on with trying to make something good.
which is, incidentally, what most active people are probably doing right now - getting ready for the easter parties they're going to visit.

and then there's people like shane. he clearly puts a fair amount of time into the scene (trolling, making jokeprods etc) yet he doesnt understand it at all, because he only ever saw a small side of it - he never went to a party or even met another scener in real life, more than likely. he must have a really warped idea of the scene.

smash: "while the adults get on with trying to make something good"

-> BWAHAHAHAHA! (-me- is looking forward to get bored to death by the neverending pc-demo-compo once again on BP!)

toxie: yea, i wonder if i can break my previous 3 years record and stay awake for it all this time. =)
besides that, i said "TRYING", better to try to make something good than try and make something shit :)

Yes, let's all make demos about feces and urine instead. That'll be hilarious!

It's been done.

so have fake accounts.
interestingly, most people in these childish unfunny jokegroups are (usually) also in respected, serious groups! isn't that just strange?
the point is that stop taking shit so god damn seriously. relax, have a beer, watch some (possibly non-joke!) demos, meet some friends. doesn't even have to be at a party!

another point is that for instance jml prods are often just made for the amusement of ourselves and our friends, and no one really cares if anyone likes them or not. if someone thinks the prods are funny, how unlikely that ever might be, that's just a bonus.

JUST RELAX. like most people are doing anyway.
Ylvaes is lying! JUMALAUTA IS ALL ABOUT PRODUCTIONS AND WE MAKE THEM 10000% SERIOUS!

In fact, most of our members hate each other, but we only stand each other to make superior demos!

...

or maybe not...

Since when did how many parties you visit determine how much of a "real" scener you are?

I`ve went to a scene party, I`ve had sceners from different countries visit me in Washington.. Does this dictate my status as a real or "unreal!?" scener?

Shane has actually been around for much longer than people realise and at the sametime had a HUGE effect on the scene from the past. He actually made the UK scene during the 90`s entertaining. Although Shane, sorry you haven`t visited Breakpoint.. so piss off and don`t dare have an opinion!!

hehehe.. the only 'real' sceners are JML, Titan, Speedfisters, Speedheilers, Heilfisters, Fistspeeders, ISO and Metalvotze members! the rest are all fakers and lamers and deserve to die!

That Kekkonen-demo by JML was actually pretty good.

And oh, I like Metalvotze and I'm not from Germany.

darkus: shane is a cock and didnt do anything remotely interesting for "real sceners" to appreciate. im sadly thinking that you have diminished into the same lamer pot as these types also.. or were you already there?

darkus: fortuitously these days we have a good group of friends who have a laugh when they meet up, sundown demoparty, pubmeets, active and talented people releasing things, and trips to foreign demoparties to make the uk scene entertaining.

if you haven't been to m&s or bp, then as a scener, you don't even exist. why, i wouldn't be surprised if you saw your own body vanishing from existence, like marty in back to the future.

in other words, i have nothing useful to contribute to this thread either.

Devistator & Smash: It really means nothing to me which pot I might be sectioned it. It`s funny how Wade`s article in the previous issue of Pain keeps becoming more and more prominent in my mind.

I am glad for the UK scene to become a unit and have a good productive line of friendships, but because I don`t really have enough interest to travel the length of the country to have a pint shouldn`t have any bearing.

The term "lamer" seems to have many meanings and without offending, each one of us can be labelled that for different reasons.

Anyway, this thread is losing it`s point.. :)

Visiting MS/BP is more a statement than an actual act - it means you're dedicated.
