Riots in Hungary

How about making Hungary a part of Austria again? Then you'll have 6 parties to choose from.

Next national elections in Austria are going to be on October 1st, by the way!

How about chopping you into little pieces for the better of humanity?

We, in socialism, had five-year plans ;P

Generalissimo Stalin had another funky quote:
"Elections don't change anything, otherwise they would be forbidden..."

Sure, if this implies me becoming Bundeskanzler of united Austria + Germany, that's a good idea!

Austria is an own country and Germany is already more than big enough I'd say.

And yes, we already have somebody on top of our government that shows her inability to improve the economical situation in our country. Each nation has the governance that they deserve. And facing the facts we in Germany seem to have deserved Mrs. Angie.

So Adok, you're out of the game I would say. ;-)

were still not bad enough to deserve adok?

Ghandy: It's up to every individual human being to improve their individual economic situation. The state is not responsible for its citizens like parents are responsible for their children. Citizens are grown-up people and have to care for themselves.

damn adok you libertarian troll, have you never as a citizen or a student taken advantage of any state help ? i really doubt it. Or else prolly indirectly, many european unis are funded by governments to provide a minimum of public education service. Or if you really haven't, that's your parents who have helped you, i don't see you working overnight in a stinking McDo despite your inclination for the US model...

besides you live in a generally privileged social sphere (medicine) so you aren't legitimate to utter such a universal dogma about what welfare state shoudn't be. Thinking in the intelligentsia stratosphere is vain, man should be pragmatic AND humanist. And you seem to show so little humanism for a wannabe doctor o_O !! but that's finally quite a common paradox, doctors seem to be more fucked-up than the man in the street, in France it is famous that the average of smoking doctors used to be recently higher than the population average...

anyway in a real wild capitalist world you wouldn't survive very long, only the strongest and the brown noses would rule, or are you a brown nose ?

The governments of the world should stop paying for infrastructure for corporations to haul their goods around with. They're grown ups, they can build their own damn freeways and railroads.

@Zest
At the moment my parents pay my expenses. Once I'm integrated in the working world, I guess I won't need money from the government, either.

So just because your parents can afford your lifestyle (=being a student) you think other people that don't have that kinda money should stay "dumb"?

This fits "It's up to every individual human being to improve their individual economic situation".

Man, wake up. You have no clue about -real- life whatsoever.

I think formal education is overrated. I mean, the demoscene is a good example of this: Most of the coders among us have taught programming to themselves, and the programs these auto-didacts have created are more impressive than anything some computer science graduates have ever made.

If there are fewer university graduates, this will only have the effect that your actual skills and experience will count more for getting a job from now on, again.

adok: well i guess you dont see disabled people as humans or something?

adok: and what about all the demosceners who are computer science graduates?

@the_Ye-Ti
Of course they are human beings. And everybody is free to help them. If I had disabled human beings in my family or among my friends, I'd also support them.
