Texel: It's just a lot more practical to have a physical copy of some things. Like your M68k references. Of course, a tablet PC would be more or less the same, give or take the money issues. You know, how many times haven't you pasted some reference text into your source code, just to avoid switching between windows/screens.

But yeah, I don't get why anyone would want a big library of reference books these days except to show off. Not because of Google but because of Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Sort_algorithms
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Trees_%28structure%29
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Computer_networking

It's like huge and growing. Be amazed! There's even this:

You will still have to switch between screens if you want to read a hardcopy in that case.

Anyways, Dualhead guys.. TFTs arent expensive nowadays.

"how many times haven't you pasted some reference text into your source code, just to avoid switching between windows/screens."

WTF!!! What a good idea! :D But well... I have a laser printer. I don't use to need nay reference text (only when I'm learning), but when I do... just print the part I need and thats all. cheaper than a book.

Stefan: It's basically set up as a series of puzzles - what's wrong with this code... but it covers all sorts of examples that ... well who hasn't made those errors. But it DOES teach, and quite well.
I can also recommend "Fundamentals of interactive computer graphics" or the Watt&Watt book if youre into graphics. For regular coding stuff theres plenty of free stuff on the web...
