"We'll also continue the discounted "compolurker" tickets (only valid from Sunday to Monday morning) for people who don't have time to visit the whole party yet still want to watch the major competitions. Visitors entering with the compolurker ticket may not take place in compos or collect prizes."

it would be super cool to have 4k procedural gfx compo.... (just an idea)

the main problem is that our timetable is pretty full as it is. last year's looked like this:
BB Image

the only real "holes" are around saturday 15:00 (still a lot of sunlight, not exactly ideal for a gfx compo) and around saturday noon (same problem). that said, if there's significant interest (contact us on the hotline ml!!) even under these adverse conditions, we'll think about it (4k procedural graphics has the advantage that it's pretty easy to prepare and doesn't need any recording stations).

this is also why we don't have atari compos, btw: we only have 2 recording stations and there's a pretty large amount of contention for them as it is already. the time estimates in the schedule are pretty conservative, but experience shows that there's always something that goes wrong, so we get to use the extra time to improvise. besides, adding 3 more compos to a timetable that's already close to bursting is downright unrealistic - the compo team has two 14-hour-shifts OF DOOM(tm) on sat/sun already.

I would participate in the 4k procedural graphics, at least.

No "feel free to organize your own unofficial 4kb graphics compo"? :)

I see a huge slot between 00:30 saturday night and 09:00 sunday morning. What, do you think you get to sleep?

Xernobyl: No, because quite a few people stated they'd be interested in participating in such a compo. That's why there isn't a definitive "no" to such a compo yet. Still, as we don't have any timeslots left at all, we internally have the rule that for a new compo an existing one must die... but if we see even more support for a 4k procedual gfx compo, ryg might be willing to try squeeze it in somewhere...

PERSONAL opinion: The outcome of such a compo as seen on TUM doesn't really convince me. I don't think 4k procedual gfx makes sense if the generated images look worse than the entries of the 4k intro compo, which include animation and sound. But possibly there is still potential in that...

I agree with scamp.

I do understand of course that it doesn't make sense to replace a successful category with another one that is "just interesting to see". Actually I partially agree with scamp about quality of 4k gfx, but it's also true that the category it's not as matured as others. I'm sure experience will come and quality will improve. It will, for sure, if we give it an opportunity. I personally believe it's a very promising area :)

Anarchy is lost.

I was reading that and those laws seem to contradict each others... It goes like this:
YOU CANT!
Ok, only a little bit...
Ah... you're a nice guy go for it... you have good intentions and that...

From what I understood TBL are free to use the decepticons logo, and LB and lugoboer are free to add a few seconds of movie quotes in his tracks...?

What about some boobs? If I go to a random google image search for boobs to add to a demo... no one really knows from where most boobs come from. Are these boobs ilegal to use? What's a demo without boobs....?
