Let's not polemicize this thread...

never mind.

He has a point, though. It's a bit weird if those who merely stream the party get more applauded than the ones actually running the party itself. Especially as supporting DTV as a party organizer usually means a lot of additional work, as they never show up in time during the setup phase of a party...

(I am not a TUM organizer, but very able to easily understand if some TUM organizers are a bit frustrated about this.)

Thanks to the organizers for supporting DTV so that they were able to successfully stream the compos!

That's better ;)

How can one who wasn't present at the party place greet the organisers? That thread has been started by someone who was NOT at the party place. Got the point?

irokos: i was wondering about that too but then i kinda realized that without the organizers there wouldnt have been a stream OR releases, so in a way, i think you should...

...shut the fuck up? yeah, you're right. But that doesn't make sense.
added on the 2007-12-30 16:49:04 by iks iks
...no. i think you should at LEAST greet the organizers, since they're on a lower level of abstraction than DTV.

Well, then thanks to tUM organisers! Happy new year!

He's a cunt, so there's no arguing grounds.

But yeah, you need to sit back and appreciate how people are so happy about a few guys pointing a camera at a big screen and wholly forget it's a bunch of other people who actually make it worth pointing the camera anywhere.

Yeah yeah, it's not about how easy or hard it is. They're still the only ones actually bothering to do that.

And yeah, of course I respect the guys making it worth it probably even more, but that's not what this thread was about. (But thanks to TUM organizers anyway, even though I couldn't be there ;)

I also thank the guys who enter the compo, coz without prods there is nothing to stream :)

Anyway I really enjoyed the stream. It s great to see the compos without having to travel.

Anyway I got the point about the financial risk.
Wouldn't it be fair to pay few euros to stream the compo. This money will be used to finance the party place. I personnaly would pay for that.

Nytrik: well, the thing is that you'd probably want a see a couple of those euros to go to the streaming people too (unless DTV is still swimming in a vat of money)

To finish up this mess,
its true, and sad, i wish any of the real visitors would have started a thank you TUM Team thread.

Because its minimum same necessary to say that to the orga team for sure.

EVEN when iam a happy idiot who say thanks to some "few guys pointing a camera"

I decided to say official a small thanks, was nobody did mention that before, and everybody seems to enjoy.

I can understand that the orgas are pissed, that nobody show respectable for the big work, risks and effords they took ( hopefully with a good end )
Sure without them this real and virtual happening would not be possible.
I know that and respect that.

But same way i didnt like the way the tum orgas responded here, for me it was like a bit "fishing for compliments" ... Even when they did a awesome job, i dont like to behave like that.

So please lets dont fight for something wich is not worth to argue about.

So finally i have to apologize me to not thank to the tum team which made it all possible, thats what i agree ...

In any case i wish you all a nice and successfull 2k8 with more nice parties and streams for all who can not attend.

and you have to thank the computer/console/homecomputer/etc. industry! all this demo-thing would not be possible without them!

seriously: every one knows that all this couldn't happen without the orgas, the visitors, the dtv-team, the food-support, the pizza-wave, the guys at the electric power company and a lot more guys. we know that and we appreciate that. but it's always the case that not everyone who worked hard get the credit he deserves, atleast not in public on a website.
that's a pity, but that's live guys.

so sit back and relax guys, cause YOU KNOW that you have done a good job, and that finally is everything that counts, or not?

H2o, don't start acting like a baby because people react to your thread. What did you expect when you started this? You benefit from the hard work of the tUM-orga's, and then you explicitly thank only the 2 people that were there for only one day to stream their camera over the net. So yes, it's normal that you anger the real workers.
And nobody of the orga-team is fishing for compliments. But it's really annoying if people start to thank other people for your hard work.

Nevertheless, I also want to thank DTV for the smoothest coöperation ever. Apart from arriving more than a day too late (wich they even told us in advance), everything worked out very smooth.

@shifter : So far iam responsible for my time-management and not you ...

Dont know why you are so hot to piss on other ones, really i cant understand why ...

stop being such whiners. h2o thanked people for doing a good job at something. thanks are a positive thing, and i really can't get how you're all somehow taking offense from that.

i'm sure many other people have done a lot more good to the world (or indirectly to yourselves, even) than the last 100 people any of us thanked for anything, but there's no need to get pissy about that.

when you like something, show appreciation. that's always a good thing. instead of pissing at h2o you could've also simply responded thanking the tum orgas for a great party, rather than turning the original message into something bad.
